    A rather odd bit of audience laughter was when Bond gets by the security man at the American air base and the security guard alerts others by saying, "And he's wearing a red shirt." I didn't understand at the time why that brought big laughs from the audience. Still don't.

    Perhaps because it sounds so trivial against the original radio call? "Some nut wants to see the base commander!...and he's wearing a red shirt!"

    Maybe it was an unintentional joke - because it does sound more peculiar maybe?

    Is the red shirt not a reference to communists?
    It was either that.....or the priesthood

    Or maybe it's a reference to the trivial characters who are always killed in Star Trek.

    Or it's planting the idea to the audience, why Bond needs to
    change in to a disguise . :D This thread is like visiting an aging
    relative, with occasional lucid moments, but only for a general
    statement or two. :))

    My film order is very simple , I enjoy all the official Bond films and find it hard to
    Choose between them. As for The Bad films CR67 I don't think I've ever actually
    Watched it all in one sitting, NSNA, another awful movie, every so often I give it
    A go, but eventually end up skipping entire scenes.

    Me too. It's funny, when I saw NSNA at the cinema in '83, I really enjoyed it, though the lack of EON trademarks such as the Bond theme, gunbarrel sequence and other motifs was noticeable. Over time however, it's really suffered in parts. Which just goes to show how good the official films are.

    Wow, this is becoming a nice topic! I am an import New Yorker, having lived in Japan previously: Quite polarc opposites when it comes to politeness. Still, the city has wonderful people and they hate their own President: 90% of the New Yorkers voted for Hillary, they are not exactly proud of that douchebag.

    As for Thunderball: May I refer you to an interview with the author on the wonderful James Bond Radio episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Q_ZjwhIWJI&t=1931s Clearly they were talking about a movie. However, Fleming was indeed very interested in television in the beginning, so some kuddo's to Chula.

    But thanks Chula for joining, really entertaining and I do acknowledge your fandom of James Bond. Keep posting! -{
