Card charged, tag accepted, all good - delighted to be part of the project and thanks to those that made it happen. Saw the new TF Harrington spring/summer version in HK last week - nice, but ours is a cut above.

    Welcome to the board. {[]

What does the latest version of the Harrington look like? Another G9 type jacket?
  • junebai89junebai89 Posts: 172MI6 Agent
I went to the tom ford store and the new Harrington Looked like the G9 Baracuta. But it ran small, compared to what the Bond Harrington will run. I tried on size 58 and was too tight. Where the Bond Harrington I have to wear size 54.

Yes agreed junebai89 - it's a black Barracuta G9 style with double button collar, black leather plain rectangular tag on reverse, elasticated waist, silver zip, TF leather logo on zipper, half lined. G9 style pockets. 26500 HKD.

Wow, that's about USD3'000...and nothing special about it....

We got an excellent deal thanks to Simon!

I've seen a couple of these newer harringtons show up on ebay. The term "nothing special" is correct. I really disliked the leather tab on the back of the jacket. I wasn't aware that sizing was such an issue with them.

This QOS Harrington project is a deal by Tom Ford standards, even if ridiculously expensive by real world metrics.

I hope this is the final mega-bucks project for a while.

Only thing I saw difference was the inside lining G9Baracuta vs Tom ford was almost same pattern but different color. Everything else looked 98% same jacket.

I see the suede version of the current TF G9 harrington is going for $6,990 on Mr Porter. :o

    https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/tom_ford/slim-fit-suede-harrington-jacket/820592

Really makes the QoS a bargain by comparison.

Mr Porter gives the actual dimensions of each size of the jacket, so it's interesting to compare it to the chart provided by Luigi.

Hopefully all 50-odd of us have been charged and the order was placed for the fabric. Eagerly awaiting the new ETA.

Current G9 model, as stated in the Mr Porter description, runs small and slim. It also runs short. So it's slimmer and shorter than the QoS, with the sleeves perhaps a cm longer due to the elastic cuff. The QoS will be more of a classic fit, unless you chose to go down a size.

I find it interesting to compare the different fits. As always YMMV.

I tried one of those TF G9 models.
    They indeed run small.

    Just received from Luigi:

    Dear All

The order is launched and as soon as possible I will inform about the expected delivery time.

Some of you asked me the chance to have alterations on the jacket if needed. We will be most pleased to welcome you on our TOM FORD DOS (list on the attachment) to satisfy your request in terms of alterations on the Harrington jacket. The alterations will be free of charge on the matter of shorten sleeves. Be aware that all the alterations required that are not included as above will be charged accordingly to the store alterations list.

If you may have any question please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Best Regards

    Luigi

Good to know the alterations have been confirmed. Now to play the waiting game.
    I'm sorry......that last hand...nearly killed me

Given I have a 600 mile round trip I asked Luigi directly re alteration costs, especially given as he advised size up in case the actual jackets measurements vary, indicated they were included...
Not happy and appropriate email will be heading over...

I look forward to your answer from Luigi. I too would have a 600 mile round trip to my nearest Tom Ford store. He indicated he would sort out alterations with the Beverly Hills store if needed.

    Email sent

    Good evening Luigi
    Hope all well with...
Just received your email regarding order progress.
Regarding alterations, I asked the specific question, as a valued Tom Ford customer, re would these be covered in the cost in my email on 20.12.16.
To which you confirmed in your email on the same date that you would arrange anything required with the appropriate store.
Given I have a 600 mile round trip and you advised to size up to allow alterations, I think it is unfair to change the alterations cover to just sleeve length after orders have been taken on a different understanding?

I really hope the jackets are accurate to their size guide/TF sizing so I won't need alterations...the closest TF store to me, as per Luigi's list, is in Hong Kong, 4500 miles away, so just a bit of a trek :s

I was at neiman marcusand tried on a harrington jacket they had. I can just say I hope it doesn't run at the size it currently is lol.
I had to wear a 58-60. Holy they ran slim and tight. btw I ordered a 54 in bond Harrington looking at the size chart.

I agree, I tried on one of their new military jackets in the mini TF store in Sydney and I had to wear a 56 (usually 42/52IT). Not sure what's going on with their current jacket sizing?

  • CommandantCommandant Posts: 1,367MI6 Agent
Agree, the new clothes run much tighter than before.
    As our Harrington is based on a previous collection, I'm sure it will be fine -{

Any guesses on how long the production will take? My experience with TF is that the summer is out due to vacations.....wouldn't be surprised if we are waiting until year end, or longer. Hoping to stay slim in the meantime!
