Tenuous Bond connections?

As with a lot of us I'm sure, the world of James Bond has become ingrained into my psyche, and with this being the case I keep finding tenuous links to Bond, some are very tenuous but each raises a smile, I wonder if anyone else has these moments and what they are?
I'll start with few,
While getting the car washed the other day I was given the complimentary air freshener, I usually don't bother with these but this one has a bond link

Still with cars, I'm an alfa romeo enthusiast, so theres a link there, to 3 movies, but alfa normally have very Italian sounding paint colours, I've had Rosso, Nero, Stromboli, but my latest one is silver, Sterling silver to be exact I always think of it as Robert Sterling silver.

I'm an ex rugby player, so is Daniel Craig.

John Barry was born in York, as are most my family, but he also served in the army at the same Base and same time as my Grandfather. he also shares the same birthday as me, though a much much much earlier year.

So there's a few of mine, anyone else care to share?

First time I ever shot a gun was a hunting rifle on the grounds of a hunting lodge in Scotland.

If it was an Anderson rifle that would be fantastic.

While away this weekend colleague of mine showed me his new (to him) car - guess what the Alpha Romeo Quantum from QOS apparently only 200 made. Borrowed picture from web below

While chillin on the range awaiting for a detail I noticed my ear defence. On closer inspection I saw they were the ones used by DC in SF. Plus had my PT top with me as well by coincidence. Two of the cheapest items I have ever had, both issued and used in the same Bond film!! (threw in blank PPK for effect :D

    Cheers :007)

The carbonio black alfa 159 Ti, fantastic car, I borrowed one for a weekend once, in 3.2 v6 guise, has a black headlining! Still I was happy to get my gt back. Actually looking for a good one for the wife at the moment.
Interesting how the little things like ear defence connect us to our hero.

He got some stick for it being an Alpha but when we knew which one well fair play it was rather cool and very nice!

The ear defenders was just an after thought to kill time. I just thought I wonder if.... took a quick look thanks to Bond Lifestyle and bless me they were one and the same! Even funnier there was a crate of 50 of them just sitting there in front of me (so of course swapped mine for a newer pair :D and picked up a spare pair for the collection as you do)

Sometimes it's the smallest thing or ying and yang and all that for the more expensive JV!

How about I was in the car park at the same time they were filming the car chase in TND? ...

I didn't even realise until I saw the signs about explosions and noise. If I'd have known I'd have ditched my Starbucks and gone looking for Pierce Brosnan :))

Crazy world, I was staying in the Atlantic in Hamburg the week before they were shooting there (I think it was the outside shots not sure they used the inside at all) - as they say timing is everything!

A friend of mine in the military joined a talent agency for a bit of extra cash back in the 90's and was offered two jobs he chose to be an extra in a bit part drama, unknowing the other was a Bond film! Sometimes it's just down to the choice you make. He is an accountant now - not that I have anything against accountants, some of them are lovely people :D

I forgot to say that was Brent Cross Shopping Centre car park ... Obviously there are no car parks in Hamburg so they had to use North West London :))

This reminds me of the You Know You're A Bond Fan When...

Tonight I watched a couple movies. Commando had scenes that reminded me of the FYEO car chase, Bond flying in TMWTGG, and Oddjob getting electricuted.

The Incredibles reminded me of Lewis Gilbert style Bond with enemy volcano lair and monorails and rockets/space shuttles. Plus it had the ejector seat from Goldfinger and other less obvious nods to 007.

Like you said...Bond is so engrained that I automatically notice this stuff whereas others in the same room as me are totally oblivious.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

Couple of tenuous Bond connections in the news today, GCHQ is getting a new boss after Hannigan is retiring, his is Fleming, Jeremy Fleming.
Also an unhinged chap was arrested for slashing a 10million pound painting, this painting can be seen behind bond in Skyfall when he meets Q.

I was watching Fast and the Furious 2 on the tele (it's a marathon) the other day and of course, there was an ejector seat sort of setup on the cars. I tuned out for many hours and I came back on Fast 6, I believe on the plane ending. I was having flashbacks to Die Another Day all over the place.
Firemass, that's exactly what happens when I watch any other movie.
    a reasonable rate of return
