  Fun film, with a great cast of British stalwarts headed by Trevor Howard as Mostyn. Taylor and St. John do ok as the nominal leads, and the Shirley Bassey vocal on the title song is gloriously OTT.
  Have you read the book? It's the first in a series of Boysie Oakes adventures by John Gardner, long before he became an official Bond author, and there are some great moments in them.

  I also loved the film as a kid, and the main title theme - and credit sequence - are awesome. I saw it again recently and thought it started well but trailed off a bit towards he end. The 'training sequence' is great though - as those 'training sequences' are in so many 60s films...

  Yes, saw it back in 2004. I have a copy of the film on video somewhere. I too would like to see it again. Read the novel in 1999.

  I've just watched the film of this again, and was most amused by a scene I'd forgotten.
  Female lead Jill St John and the hero (British secret agent, their top assassin) have to board a plane separately and pretend not to know each other- unknown to them they are being observed. Must have given Miss St John a feeling of deja vu a few years later when filming DAF!
