Favorite Bond Opening song

What was your favorite or one of your favorite bond opening songs. For me it would have to be either thunderball or live and let die. Two totaly different genres of music but still both very good. So wat are yours?

Dr. No and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I like The Living Daylights, The World is not Enough, Goldeneye, You Know my Name, A View to a Kill and Live and Let Die in the Groovy side

In the slow side, i prefer Moonraker (don't ask me why but is my favourite Shirley Bassey theme)Nobody Does it Better, You Only Live Twice and sometimes All Time High

(i think i've said them all)

    Ok in the bad side:
TMWTGG... i've got somethig agaist Lulu.... i don't now what is it, DAD, LTK, FYEO....

Goldfinger is a great bond theme, but i found very similar in style Thunderball, and i like it more.

Top of the list for me would be YOLT followed by Goldfinger and Thunderball. :D

My fav is TSWLM opening and my fav Bond song when at the gym is Live And Let Die.
Bond: You don't think I enjoyed what we did this evening, do you? What I did tonight was for King and country! You don't think it gave me any pleasure, do you?
Fiona: But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, who only has to make love to a woman and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing.

You Only Live Twice is far and away my favourite; beautiful song.

I like most of them; notably excluding the incredibly awful All Time High. Also, the latest theme song, You Know My Name, ranks among my favourites.

My favourites are Live And Let Die, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, A View To A Kill and Goldeneye. All the others are okay to listen to when I watch the movies. Die Another Day is the poorest amoungst the others. Very disapointing. It's only a cut above total rubbish in my opinion. I know some Madonna fans who thought it was her worst ever single in her career! I have heard You Know My Name and like it, but don't know whether it's a favourite yet.

I've always had an appreciation for the insturmentals of From Russia With Love and On Her Majesty's Secret Service and have thought with such a great composer as David Arnold scoring the films, we should get one instrumental out of him before he's done. I also really like Goldfinger, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights(only recently), GoldenEye(a lot), Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough.

For all the flack it got, I'd still say You Know My Name for Casino Royale is my favorite Bond song. The instrumentals behind it are Thunderball-esque, Chris Cornell has a great voice and uses it on very apt lyrics. It also goes very well with the title sequence, my primary requirements. It's the only Bond song I'll listen to outside of watching the film...very impressive.

Mine's got to be 'You know my name' as well as Arnold's unused 'Surrender' from TND

Nancy Sinatra's 'You Only Live Twice.' I know it closes a film rather than opens it, but I love the Scott Walker track 'Only Myself to Blame,' from TWINE. And with some shame I admit to being the person who likes 'All Time High,' from OP.

"Surrender" was used, for the end titles. Arnold also used the melody in his score. It's one of my favourites (it beats Sheryl Crow!).

Favourite closing song definitely "If there was a man" by Chrissy Hind from Living Daylights. Have you checked out Paul Rock Bond Themes? Guitar based interpretations of all the themes, it's nicely atmospheric...

If we are including songs like Surrender, how about Where Has Everybody Gone by the Pretenders from TLD? This song has a rocky, hard edged feel punctuated by high Bond style brass. It was also of course one of the last Barry composed songs in a Bond film.

Ah yes, Count Dooku, the man with the the golden lightsaber.

Anyway, GF I love because it is so cool to have an anthem about the villain; imagine if a Superman movie had a Lex Luthor song sung by a star "Lex Luthor, he's the guy, the guy with the dome of chrome!". Plus the rhyme scheme is clever: "A golden girl knows when he's kissed her/It's the kiss of death from Mister/Goldfinger" Certainly the first and greatest of the definitive Bond songs.

Thunderball is almost like giving Connery's Bond his own anthem, it's fun, though schmaltzy (but so what?). TSWLM I absolutely love, in fact I won't always play it on my themes CD because I dont want to ruin the effect when I watch the movie, it's an amazing song and perfect for Moore's best entry, it's like his own anthem: Sean may strike like Thunderball, but nobody does it better than Roger. (Is what the song seems to be saying, please don't throw stuff at my head Sean diehards lol)

After that LALD, TLD, GE, AVTAK, DAF is eerie, the OHMSS opening piece is rousing, and I also Like "Surrender," though can see how it would have been more appropriate if they made a movie that was more a tribute to the sixties.

Oh, yes, and I am singing "You Know My Name" at least once a day.

Whoah, can't believe I forgot YOLT; also enjoy its offspring "Millenium"

I've always felt that Roger Moore had the coolest musical openings of the lot. Everyone of those tunes are pretty catchy but AVTAK stands out the most.
Mrs. Man Face: "You wouldn't hit a lady? Would you?"

Batman: "The Hammer Of Justice is UNISEX!"

This is incredibly tough. I agree with Rogue---Moore's tenure, on average, had perhaps the strongest opening themes; I'm a huge fan of Wings' "Live and Let Die," and Duran Duran's AVTAK is also excellent. In addition, I admit to being a part of an apparently extreme minority who enjoys Rita Coolidge ;%

I also love Bassey's DAF and GF---particularly the bassline in DAF B-) ---but I also find YOLT hauntingly beautiful, and its Asian flavourings very appealing...

And, as I've previously said, you haven't heard anything until you've heard my sons and I singing along to TMWTGG :))

Of course "Goldfinger," "Live and Let Die," and "Nobody Does it Better" rank higher, but I have to throw my lot in with the guilt-ridden lovers of "All Time High." Could it be the most popular of the generally loathed?

For non-title songs, "We Have All the Time in the World" is my favorite.
