Bond Watch Collection

Here is a picture of my Bond watch collection. Pictured from left to right is a 4 line Rolex Submariner 6538 and 2 line Rolex Submariner 5510 from the Connery era, the Rolex Submariner 5513 from the Lazenby/Moore era, the Rolex Chronograph 6238 (Pre-Daytona) from the Lazenby era, the Breitling 806 Navitimer owned by Major Derval and recovered by Connery/Bond and lastly the Omega Seamaster 2531.80 as worn by Brosnan. Quite a chunk of change in that picture. That's why the Planet Ocean will have to wait.

Very nice indeed. Thanks for the post.

The Navitimer with the AOPA wings is rare as I understand.

Very nice collection. Where did ever get those Subs with out the crown guard? I have never been able to find one. I had a lead on one in London a few years ago but it never turned out. There was one at the Royal Arcade and they never did take me seriously as a buyer, they just blew me off.

I have never had a good experience with their customer service.

Yes the AOPA dial is rare. However it was not my first choice. I initially wanted the dial with the double stylized airplanes. This one came up for sale by an authorized Breitling agent/restorer and I could not pass it up. Now I'm glad I have this version since it is indeed the rarer version. The sub-dials have turned from silver to a nice golden color. It was my wife's favorite watch until I got the 6238. I guess she just likes chronoraphs.

Royal Arcade definitely has them, there is another shop close to Royal Arcade that also specializes in Rolex. Yes, the no crown guard Submariners are ridiculously expensive, but they can be purchased from several vintgae watch shops on this side of the pond. All it takes is patience and duckets. James Dowling has them from time to time too and he does make trips to the U.S. several times a year.

You may also find them from Frei & Borel, although they are primarily an Omega shop, they do have authorized access to other manufacturers parts.

The best place to go in London is Art & Antiques in Blenham RD just off New Bond Street. They always have a range of vintage Subs, 5513's, no-crown-guard subs, Comex and military. You'll spend a fortune in there. Best kept secret in London.

Great collection by the way DG {[]

    Congratulations DG!

You can watch "Goldfinger" without breaking a swaet every time SC checks his watch, and flicks his lighter.

{[] DG, I take a bowon these outstanding 007 Rolexes. My mouth dried out immediately when seeing the pics!

I am also admiring your Navitimer and am still angry at myself, that I have let the opportunity pass to buy one at a bargain 5 years ago, when the small size ha been discontinued.

I could have purchased it for like US$ 800 brand new and was thinking too long :'(

However, yours will take it up anytime!

I hate you, DG. LOVE the 6238. That must have cost a fortune.

    Amazing!

I was looking at an article on the QOS filming in Italy from last year. It featured a picture of DC looking through a lens. Around his wrist appears to be the bracelet for a Rolex.

That shows uncommonly good taste on his part. Anyone know what version DC wears?
