What type of music does Bond listen to?

In the movies, I have never seen Bond listen to a partictular genre of music, so the question is: What type of music does James Bond enjoy listing to?

    In the film "Goldfinger" we find out he doesn't like listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!

    In the books he listens to "Echos of Paris" a rather nice album of piano music by George Feyer. Of course "La Vie en Rose" is Bond and Vesper's song.

    I think he professes to liking jazz in the books.

    There's a brief wink to that in the Living Daylights film when we hear him listening to a slice of jazz in his car.

    I totally forgot about that scene in GF! I'm gussing that he really doesn't like anything "modern."

    Still, I wonder what his comments are on this generations genre of music (i.e. Rap, Rock, Metal, Pop etc)?

    To make is post more humorous, what would be in Bond's ipod? (If he ever owned one?

    I'm sure that in the books he also listens to The Inkspots at some time.

    This is a hard one. If he is with the ladies I think it would be jazz or something soft. If it's a long drive in the country something more like the Eagles or Sir Paul.
    Bond: You don't think I enjoyed what we did this evening, do you? What I did tonight was for King and country! You don't think it gave me any pleasure, do you?
    Fiona: But of course, I forgot your ego, Mr. Bond. James Bond, who only has to make love to a woman and she starts to hear heavenly choirs singing.

    While not "actually" Bond, I read that Daniel Craig has Kate Bush, Die Toten Hosen and the Grease soundtrack on his IPod. He definately gets a nod for variety.

    If Bond had an Ipod he would most likey have a lot of Jazz songs on it, like Louis Armstrong, Gertrude "Ma" Rainey (from John Gardner's novel Scorpius) Ella Fitzgerld, Hoagy Carmichael, and other big names like that.

    He's definitely capable of appreciating classical music, as we see in TLD. I think he's honest when telling Kara that her performance of Borodin's "Nocturne" was "exquisite."
    Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying.

    In the novel 'Live and Let Die' it is Felix who professes a taste for jazz. In 'Dr. No' we discover that one of Bond's favorite tunes is 'Marion'. He overhears Honeychile Rider singing this on the beach at Crab Key and he joins in.
    It would be my guess that Bond appreciates the music of the thirties and forties. He probably has some early Sinatra in his collection, Ella Fitgerald(How High the Moon comes to mind.) He wouldn't be adverse to jazz but he probably likes music that makes him smile. Bond isn't the weepy sort.

    Fun to speculate though...Bond should be modern but not fadish. The Beatles comment in GF always jarred a bit, and it's good fourtune that the Beatles have lasted as a cultural phenomena (which couldn't have been a known certainty at the time of GF) or that kind of thing can really date a film by making it too specific in time and can render them 'period pieces'
    Anyhoo...to quote Iggy Pop (who should be a cert for Daniel/Bonds iPod) Daniel's Bond is 'just a modern guy' so I would expect a broad range of stuff that reflects the current position of 40 yr olds buying/downloading the largest proportion of music sold. I think that Daniel's Bond would like the Kaiser Chiefs, but would also listen to some Jazz (possibly of the funky modern Scandinavian persuassion) He is unlikely to go much for Hip-Hop, but he would listen to Anastacia and moody Jazz when entertaining a lady. He remains even in Dan's portrayal a well educated fellow albeit by the the grace of' someone elses' money' so he would at least be aqainted with the classical canon (Bach, Beethoven, Scarlatti etc) I wouldn't see him as having a very left-field or esoteric sensibility in his tastes,but he wouldn't like junk or ephemera. I suspect him of having a liking for mid period Pink Floyd, more Dark side than Piper at the gates of Dawn.
    And yes I think he would most certainly like the Beatles unless he's more of a Rolling Stones man of course...

    I used to wonder what each Bond's musical preferences might be. So I usually visualize what each one might unwind to:

    Connery during downtime = Jazz

    Moore = Definetely Classical some Classic Disco

    Lazenby = 60s Rock like The Turtles, Beatles, etc.

    Dalton = New Age, Classical

    Brosnan = Americana, Electronica

    Craig = Soundscapes...maybe a little Country
