He's had a Dunhill leather jacket in the past that he's been pictured in lots of times. That would be my starting point.

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

"For Daniel Craig's BELSTAFF jacket, go to belstaff.com"

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

Got a lot of kit, particularly jackets, hasn't he?

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

Belstaff's site is spotty. Especially the online shopping site. Neither make it too simple to find out if they have previously made or will make the jacket you are thinking of.... Most are there, but sometimes it seems that jackets you might spot in a current feature or movie are nowhere to be found on their site.

Love the looks though. The Belstaff World Movies section is worth a look to see some of the films they have done the jackets for in the past.

Hmm I have been through both summer and winer collection and nothing like it at all, wonder if its an old or unreleased model??

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

Yeah, does not look like a Bellstaff

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

The lining looks very much like Bellstaff

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

This is the closest I've found that matches the jacket due to the wrist and pockets (Daniels pocket flap looks tucked in) but obviously its not in Black!

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

I've just checked the magazine in my local newsagent and it confirms that it is a Belstaff jacket but doesn't say which type. It just says "Daniel Craig wears a Belstaff jacket".

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

Was there more pics of the jacket in the magazine or is that the only one?

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

Just the one

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

I'd recommend contacting the magazine publisher direct.  Often publications keep info on hired clothing for photoshoots on their books, and at the very least should be able to provide contact details to the supplier. That way they could confirm the  make and model of the jacket?  Of course if its the actor's own, that would complicate things.  I doubt that's the case though. Esp in a photoshoot of this type, with 3 A List actors.

Someone at filmjackets id'd it as the Belstaff Pattinson in black, so looks like Welshboy was correct.  What few details are there match up well.  From what one of the other members that has several Belstaffs mentioned, apparently they're hard to come by.

I saw that before I posted this question to the group because it simply does not look like that coat (other than the lining)

Yeah, the lining... and the stitching, the zip puller, the cuffs, the straps at the cuffs, the grommets on the straps at the cuffs, etc.  Pretty much looks just like it, from all the details we can see, not just the lining.

Might have mentioned it was already id'd though, even if you didn't agree.

I would ask Belstaff however their contact section is not working on their site??

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

It's the jacket Robert Pattinson wore in Water for Elephants, hence the name.

Re: Daniel Craig's Leather jacket on cover of Vanity Fair

EDIT: Patterson and Pattinson are both perhaps the correct names?

He also wore one called Patterson, which is why I mentioned it. I thought somebody else here mixed up his name and his jacket's.

Collar looks odd to me, but pockets seem right on that Pattinson one:

I was thinking of the one that runs in the slideshow on this page due to the collar and Robert Pattinson, but the jacket being Patterson.  ajb007/confused  ajb007/confused  Mind boggled for a moment:

Well I guess if I took a magnifying glass out and analyzed the stitch pattern....I guess you have more time than I do...all I can say is browsing the Belstaff Catalogue I would have NEVER picked that coat out.  It looks much much better on Craig in the picture than in the online catalogue.  I didn't mention it because I didn't believe it.

Looks like, especially with Belstaff's prize winning website, they just screwed up and named the one from the newer season Patterson.

The one in the slideshow has an angled chest pocket zipper, no flapped pockets, and the cuffs are different.  it's more than likely a completely different model like the one in this thread, which hasn't shown up as it's own thing yet.

Should break out Paperbill's magnifying glass to see if the slide show jacket has a waistband.

Knowing Belstaff though, it may be the new season's version of the Pattinson/Patterson.  They like to change perfectly fine designs seemingly for the hell of it.

ajb007/lol  Doesn't take a magnifying glass or much time with pic as large as you linked to see the pocket stitching and other details.  But let me get this straight, you have no time to compare the two jackets, but you ask others to search for a jacket that's already been id'd? How about a "Do you think this is the same jacket?" thread next time?  That could save everyone some time, no?
