Re: Daniel Craig to continue as Bond "as long as he can".

Yahoo! visited the set at Pinewood and the subject of comedy brought this response from Daniel Craig. "You have to have a script that has the bones of comedy. Comedy in Bond films, for me, comes out of the situations people get into. They're exciting, and hopefully heart-stopping, and the comedy comes out of the one-liners and things. When Sam [Mendes] came in, it was key for all of us that there's a lightness of touch in the writing that's not been as evident in the past two."

More comment from Craig, Barbara Broccoli, Javier Bardem and Judi Dench. There is also detailed description of a scene in the film.

Thanks for posting!  I'm perfectly fine with this; after the last couple, there's room for a bit of the trademark humour that's always been a part of the cinematic Bond legacy---and if anybody can find the proper balance, IMO it's Craigger.  Looks like the old time tradition (Connery, Moore)---of an actor's 3rd outing being a landmark---is going to be back in play.

Very much looking forward to Skyfall!   ajb007/bond

I am also very much looking forward to Skyfall, Loeffelholz. I am getting the same vibe as you that it could be pretty special. Now, if I was replying to you last November when the first photo's emerged of Daniel Craig with the grey stubble I would have been making comment regards another old time tradition (Connery, Moore)---of an actor's 7th outing.  ajb007/biggrin

I'm pissed at the moment, but all the same it looks an odd film. All that darkened sky and locale, very odd and unlike any other film, a bit of a Scottish vibe what's ll taht about>?   ajb007/confused  But not bad in any way perhpahs a bt unglamorous so far but we shall see. Moody.

Bond: Mr. Mathis, there's something that's been worrying me...
Mathis: Yes?
Bond: Well, you're a French police inspector, yet you speak with an Italian accent.
Mathis: Mamma mia, it worries me, too.

Scottish countryside vibes are some of my favorite vibes. ajb007/biggrin

Really, they are. It is part of why I love Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 so much (who's costume designer is now designing SkyFall wardrobes by the way).

I love that Craig and the others acknowledge that they were missing the signature lightness brought on by the one-liners, but they are contrasting it with the dark and gritty that Craig's Bond outings are known for.

I am truly excited for this one.

Re: Daniel Craig to continue as Bond "as long as he can".

A Danish film magazine has visited the set. But this time it is Adana, Turkey, not Pinewood. Ola Rapace reveals that his character Patrice is a man of few words who loves violence. Naomie Harris refers to her character, "I like the fact that Eve is such a strong peasant-woman."........Yes, the translation is not the best.

There is also a detailed description of a stunt scene.

I'm all for a bit of humor now and then, but PLEASE don't overdo it! (Yes, I'm looking at you, Roger!)  Keep it on the Connery level (pre-DAF) and we're good.

Very cool; thanks!  I love Dame Judi...but in a way it'll be a relief when there's another M, and perhaps he can just send 007 on his missions again.  Looks like we're getting an extra dose of the lady this time round.  I don't mind terribly, as long as it's a good story.

Re: Daniel Craig to continue as Bond "as long as he can".

My only major concern (apart from the dull leading ladies) is that with so many high quality actors in the cast will we get enough Bond? Really hope that this does not turn out to be a Judi Dench movie with James Bond in it. Good as she is I can't wait for her to get out of the way.

Re: Daniel Craig to continue as Bond "as long as he can".

Zap - How can you tell if the leading ladies are "dull" if the film hasn't come out yet???  You haven't seen how they handle their roles, so are you just basing your opinion on the fact that apparently you don't find these women to be particularly attractive? (And for the record - they look quite fine to me!) Just asking.

A purely superficial reaction on my part I'm afraid. Also find that Bernice is very much in the Olga whatshername and Eva Green type mould, dark hair, olive skin...I would have liked a greater change towards old school glamour. basically  wanted  Christina Hendricks or similar.
Fed up with Tom- boys.

I'm not sure where you're from Zap old boy, but if Olga Kurylenko and Eva Green are considered to be "Tom-boys" in that part of the world, then I'm booking my flight NOW!

Sounds very intriguing...more about humour in this one---and it's the first I've heard of Adele possibly doing the theme, which would be a VERY good fit, IMO   ajb007/bond

Ok perhaps Tom boy is a bit harsh for Eva Green. The point that I really wanted to make was that if you take the last two movies the ladies including Solange (who was glamorous BTW) conform to a particular type and I was hoping for someone a bit different, maybe a Blond or Redhead (please no body bother to point out ' blink and you'll miss her Fields'  as that was to my mind no more than a Cameo)

According to MI6, Daniel Craig will play James Bond for at least two more films. No source is provided for this "news". Craig stated recently in an interview with the BBC that he would stay on as long as he was asked to, so this could be true.
