Goldfinger and Scaramanga = Friends or Partners?

Since these two have owned the exact same golden gun, is it possible that they have worked together at some point? Perhaps maybe they were best friends. Prerhaps they were also former SPECTRE members

I always assumed that when Q and erm.... The other chap

are discussing the 4.2mm calibre, they come to the conclusion that lazar made the gun and the bullet.

Still, either way, Goldfinger's gold plated S&W is no where near similar, let alone "exactly the same" as Scaramanga's custom made boffin capper.
