First Bond in the cinema?

What film is the first Bond you saw in the cinema? Does this change your opinion of the movie? For me it's SF and yes I think it does make me love the film more. Any old fellows saw DN in the cinema?

    DAD unfortunately.

I wasn't old enough to be allowed to see any until TWINE. But for some reason I didn't go to see it. Why oh why? TWINE isn't the best, but I would have much rather had it as my first cinema bond than DAD!

Having said that though, I enjoyed DAD at the cinema very much so. Unfortunately, it sunk right to the bottom of my bond list as the years went on.

First bond film I saw altogether was LALD, on VHS. Still my favourite.
    1 - LALD, 2 - AVTAK, 3 - LTK, 4 - OP, 5 - NTTD, 6 - FYEO, 7 - SF, 8 - DN, 9 - DAF, 10 - TSWLM, 11 - OHMSS, 12 - TMWTGG, 13 - GE, 14 - MR, 15 - TLD, 16 - YOLT, 17 - GF, 18 - DAD, 19 - TWINE, 20 - SP, 21 - TND, 22 - FRWL, 23 - TB, 24 - CR, 25 - QOS

    1 - Moore, 2 - Dalton, 3 - Craig, 4 - Connery, 5 - Brosnan, 6 - Lazenby

As a babe in arms I was taken to OHMSS, later as a 9yr old
I talked by Big Bro in to taking me to LALD. The first one
I went by myself to was TSWLM, and have seen everyone
    since in the cinema. :)

9 year old, but if you were a baby in 69 wouldn't you have been about four when LALD came out, Thunderpussy?

My first theater Bond experience was "Tomorrow Never Dies." Probably why I defend it a little bit more than some other Bond films...

I'm living my life backwards. :))
(Probably my bad Grammar), I was a baby for OHMSS, later as a 9 yr old I watched LALD.

I went to see Goldeneye with my dad. That experience combined with the the Nintendo 64 game ensured that GE will always be a favorite of mine.

Seen every 007 film since then in the cinema. Die Another Day, with its references to all the films, inspired me to buy a complete 007 collection on VHS so I could watch all the older ones.
    My current 10 favorite:

    1. GE 2. MR 3. OP 4. TMWTGG 5. TSWLM 6. TND 7. TWINE 8.DN 9. GF 10. AVTAK

For me, it was GoldenEye. I hated that film at first, because it was vastly different to the other Bonds in the sense that they've messed too much with the opening fanfare, Brosnan badly needed a haircut, and the fact that M was a woman. If there was one saving grace, it was Tina Turner's theme song.

Later on I started warming up to it and it's now in my top 10.

The first Bond film I was in the cinema was Tomorrow Never Dies after having played Goldeneye on the N64 and watched the VHS with some friends. It's probably why I have soft spot for both films: they introduced me to the series.
    1. CR 2. OHMSS 3. GE 4. TLD 5. FRwL 6. TMWTGG 7. FYEO

The Spy Who Loved Me when I was either 3 or 4; didn't really change my thoughts on it afterwards (I love it, BTW).

I have been watching the Bond films starting with A View to a Kill on the big screen since (didn't see Casino Royale, though).

I've seen all the Bond's at the cinema.
Live and Let Die was the first I ever saw. Our local cinema
did a Bond week sometime after that and I practically lived
in the cinema for the duration seeing all the films except
OHMSS which they omitted. I had to wait for my fortieth
birthday to see that on the big screen. My lovely wife
organised a private screening just for me and a few friends.
Fantastic. I'm 50 in a few weeks time, can't wait to see what
she's organised for that, bless her !

The first Bond film I saw in the theater when it was originally released was Goldfinger. However, a few years later I saw Dr. No and From Russia With Love when they were re-released as a double feature. What a glorious time that was! I loved all three films when I first saw them as a mere child, and I still love them now.

TSWLM, however it left me a bit cold in a way because until then I'd only seen GF and TB on the telly, a smaller scale Bond film, whereas this one is more like YOLT in scale, which I hadn't seen. So in a way it wasn't really like Bond to me, and to this day it does seem a bit cold, a bit clinical. My parents loved the opening inc song, but bitched about the rest of it, Roger Moore in particular who was sort of new to us (not that new, because of The Saint).

'Live and Let Die' while on holiday in Cornwall at about age 8! My first Bond film at all...although I quickly began to catch up with telly showings of the rest. Absolutely loved it and it remains one of my all-time favourite Bond films likely because, as you so wisely suggested Mr Suzuki, it was my first!

Diamonds are Forever, but I would have been 6 or 7 in 1970/71 and I don't think my parents would have taken me at that age to see a Bond film, but I think Films in those days came back to the Cinema, because I definitely remember sitting through The Battle of Britain twice, and that was released in 69, I think The Spy who loved me is definitely better on the Big screen, and certainly had an impact.

Tomorrow Never Dies was the 1st i saw in the cinema, i must have been about 12/13, liked it a lot then,, though its my worst of the Bonds now, i dont hate it, id give it about 5 or 6/10, the 1st half is pretty good, then trails off into a 3rd rate 90s action thriller, though i do find Price quite comical and think hes a pretty good villain.

This is my first post. It is nice to be aboard! The first movie I saw in the cinema was Octopussy and I absolutely loved it. I definitely like it more for having seen it first. I was 10 years old and it had quite an impact. Though Moore is not my favorite Bond (that spot is reserved for Connery), I know I will always have a soft spot for him since he was my Bond growing up, and I will always appreciate the direction he took the character after Connery, even though I understand many do not. After that, I began watching as many of the older Bonds as I could and I was hooked for life. Certainly I have my favorites, but IMO, while flipping through the channels, I will gladly watch any Bond film that happens to be on, even the ones I consider to be at the bottom of my list.

Casino Royale at the age of 12. I'm proud to say that was the first Bond film I saw in the cinema. Watching the parkour scene was amazing to watch, and the Texas Hold 'Em scenes were intriguing which is definitely interesting considering most 12 year olds would most likely be bored watching those kind of scenes in a film. Daniel Craig is still the man and while Brosnan remains my favourite Bond (simply because he was the first one I saw overall), Craig erased any doubts that I had about whether or not he'd be better than Brosnan. I am more than willing to admit that if Daniel Craig's next two films are as good or even better than Skyfall, then Craig will overtake Sean Connery as THE Bond.

i believe i would have been 10 when i saw licence to kill in theater, which was my first. Ironic, because LTK might be the Bond LEAST geared towards ten year olds. It was only later than I grew to truly appreciate it and now it's one of the favorite of the series.
