Believe they were, like the chips, made by Cartamundi under very strict guidelines from EON. There was a very limited run and all examples were strictly controlled on set, there were signs everywhere warning extras that they would be fired and prosecuted if they removed anything from the sets. It was some time after release that the Casino Royale plaques by B et G started to trickle out and as far as I am aware there were still only a handful out there until the auction last October which released a load more, at a price. I think you would still be looking at least $1000 for a genuine B et G CR plaque. Also be aware that EON have no qualms about delivering Cease and Desist orders against copyright infringers and have done so very recently. So basically all bad news. :(

We can only hope that FE tackle these or the Patrice chip soon.

Thanks GM. So odd, seeing how the playing cards and chips seem readily available. Why the line in the sand at the plaques, I wonder?

Exactly the same situation with CR, EON retain control. They'll most probably let some out at future charity auctions.

The Patrice chip was a 3d print created by the same folks that did the DB5 etc.

Can the floating dragon cards be purchased without the poker kit etc like CR?

When I saw Skyfall the first time I didn't realise it was a casino chip he found until he was cashing it in at the casino. So I was confused why he was in Macau.
I though the poker sets would come with the main chip but it doesn't. It's a little disappointing and the reason I haven't purchased a set.

Spoke with FE about this sometime back and for multiple reasons, they sadly have no plans to do plaques from any of the possible films soon.

Those CR B&G's will fetch about $5000 each these days privately and probably nearly as much on eBay--and then someone shelled out a LOT of money at the Christie's auction after that.

There is A VERY GOOD reason why casino plaques were never made for public...

Well if you take everything you know in life, all the routines and things you enjoy doing, the social life and favourite tv programmes, your views on pretty much everything and your opinions on kids etc, took all that, threw it in a cement mixer, added a claymore and then did that trick where you spin round real quick with your forehead on the end of a broom handle, that's pretty much where I am right now :))

Basically, I'm fooked :) but it's fooking great with it :))

Anyways, as for the casino chips and FE, I may be wrong and please anyone correct me if I am, but I believe FE can't do any chips and plaques as Cartamundi who make them for the films would own the intellectual property rights to the designs, so FE would have to get permission to reproduce them under licence, which is most probably why they aren't looking into making them. The could easily be an agreement between EoN and Cartamundi along the lines of the plaques remain exclusive for the films and not for sale to the public. If this is the case, what would you do, keep EoN happy and have your products repeatedly used in Bond films or put the plaques into production, piss EoN off and make a few quid? Not really a difficult choice is it?

B&G made the plaques. No way would they offer them to the general public. They deal exclusively with casinos and own their designs. It would almost be like the UK Govt issuing replicas of Bonds passport. Ain't gonna happen. They certainly aren't going to let FE produce their patented and strictly controlled designs.

Eon own the design of the Patrice Floating Dragon chip, but I can't see them ever making that item available for FE to produce. It didn't see much screen time and wouldn't be a great seller.

I'm very glad to hear that - no one said that becoming a parent is easy, far from it. Having that said it seems you've settled down with it quite easily and knowing you there's no doubt about it -{ -{ All the best :007)

You can't use real plaques because the extras would use them in the real world--something similar has happened before with Bond movie money!

Asp is correct--you can't have B&G produce them either.

Ha, the plaques have a fictional casino name on them!

Yup - B&G are casino supplier and they only deal with casinos and on rare occasion EON :)
Their plaques are made like currency (which is their purpose) - with tons of security features with make them impossible to duplicate. They also don't like thier stuffs floating out there for all to see that is why they deal exclusively with real casinos.

  • HigginsHiggins GermanyPosts: 16,618MI6 Agent

If the CAD data of the above is available one could 3D print it and colorize it afterwards.

The original chip was constructed of 5 parts. 2 inserts, 2 rims and the main body.

BTW, I have to correct myself on this one - these plaques are not made by B&G - they are made in the same manner as the chips - same company.
They do not have raised borders or lunettes as B&G

Yeah, you're right, they are CartaMundi. Made in the same style as the B&G but without the extra details and anti counterfeiting methods - hence cheaper.

Have you got a file for the cad of the chip? I know a very good cnc machinist and would love for him to have a look at it....

No, I just found the image on the site of the 3D artist who designed it, I think? I need to look at SF again, thought for sure that the chip was a gloss black and gold! Would love to see it offered; shame about FE not doing any more Bond stuff.

It's definitely red and gold. It's just the lighting that makes it look darker.
