Re: Donk's guide to 1960s Synopsis Sheets,Press Books & Premiere Brochures

Can I ask what the variations were between the two main Thunderball Premiere brochures were?

Also, I am guessing the Thunderball McGinnis variation is for a regional premiere...??

Re: Donk's guide to 1960s Synopsis Sheets,Press Books & Premiere Brochures

Also, and while not wishing to steal the thread host's thunder, some Synopsis and Local Premiere Brochure variations together with the CR '67 and NSNA World brochures.

Please feel free to dump in another thread if preferred elsewhere.

I am missing the Thunderball Premiere Brochure and FRWL synopsis variations.  I do have all else that is displayed in this thread plus the later synopsis up to and including DAD, and campaign books / marketing guides up to and inc. CR - but these seem freely available.

Cheers.

Re: Donk's guide to 1960s Synopsis Sheets,Press Books & Premiere Brochures

Hmm.  I was talking with a US friend just two days ago about what, if any of the Bond films, had US Screening Programs printed for them.

I was aware that Spy, Mr and FYEO had them only because I had seen Only these three on ebay.

Donk, can you confirm from and to when these were published?  And was the run of programs complete?  There weren't any omitted from the run?

Either way, the chap asked me if I would start collecting, and I said probably not, just because I could never imagine finding them all.

Have you also got all the later programs?

Many thanks.

Re: Donk's guide to 1960s Synopsis Sheets,Press Books & Premiere Brochures

I have only ever seen two US premier programs for Goldfinger. This is the only Thunderball I have ever seen and I have only ever seen two of the YOLT in all my years of collecting. Only the Goldfinger is dated as it came in a glossy Gala charity folder. I too I have asked US friends for these without success. The last YOLT I saw was perhaps 15 or more years ago. I have not heard of a hint of US programs or brochures for Dr No, FRWL or OHMSS. They all measure 28cm x 21.5cm  ajb007/martini

Re: Donk's guide to 1960s Synopsis Sheets,Press Books & Premiere Brochures

I am amazed these things aren't as proliferate as the 1 Sheets and the Pressbooks.  One can only wonder why?  You've done well with what you have then, quite clearly.

Thanks for that fella.

Wow!

I must admit I thought it was in pretty good shape for an item of that age.  I was even tempted to replace the one I have for that one.

The CR Premiere Brochure wasn't in tip top condition either.... Are there minimum standards for your synopsis?
