Help with Scotland

I'm trying to surprise the wife with a trip to Edinburg, Scotland. It's a quick trip, 2 days and day in London. I have London sorted, but what's the best our time in Scotland for those 2 days?

Any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated!

    The Castle would be No 1 to see. There are city tours in open busses (weather permitting). If you have a taste for Gothic, check out the dungeon tours round the old city.

    Pussy that was awful!

    I'd say a picnic in Queens Street gardens if the weather is nice. If the weather is poor, visit the nearby National Gallery.

    Barbel is right re the Castle, its beautiful. The botanical gardens are nice for a quick stroll too. For the evening, there are a heap of nice bars and resteraunts.

    If it's your wife's first time in the U.K., you have to treat her to some traditional cuisine. In Scotland that's a deep-fried Mars bar, and in England it's curry.

    Them fried mars bars are yummy, even more so with ice cream, not had one in about 15 yrs, they won't do them here incase they melt out in to the fat.

    The best curry is a madras, not to hot but not to mild, with special fried rice and popadoms.
