Road safety research

Hello all. I hope you are all well.

Ladies and Gentleman. I would really value your assistance.

I am currently undertaking a Masters degree in civil engineering at the University of Surrey. My dissertation project is a study of road safety information and I am required to undertake research in this area.

My research objectives are to determine whether road safety campaigns that incite good feelings amongst the road user and offer reward systems are more likely to achieve behavioural change, than campaigns that incite feelings associated with fear and instruction.

To assist with my research, I have produced a survey which should only take about five minutes of your time. The answers you provide will be completely anonymous and there is an option at the end of the survey to enter into a draw to win one of two cash prizes of £10.

If you could spare the time to complete the survey it would be very much appreciated.

To access the survey please use the web link below.

It would be great if you could encourage your friends and family to participate. I would welcome the views of everyone. If you aged 16-21 years old I would value your input especially as this age group is overrepresented in accident statistics. If you know anyone of this age or know someone who works at a school, college etc, I would be grateful if you could make them aware of the survey.

The survey closes 7th May 2014.

Your valuable time is appreciated.

Thank you

Carl McMahon
