What if James Brolin became Bond in Octopussy???

  It's tough to say what would and would not translate from the screen test. If his look stayed the same for the film, I think he would have failed. It just seemed to run of the mill, made for tv. I am in the camp who believes Bond having a British background is paramount and that an American in the role just doesn't fit (I'm American myself).
  
  From the screen tests, it looks like he could handle the physicality. A lot of it would depend on what type of films they wrote for him.

  I wasn't impressed by Brolin's screen test and I really can't see him as Bond. Although I'm not totally opposed to the idea of an American actor as Bond, it would only work for me if he is relatively unknown and he can speak with an impeccable English accent.
