Least favorite Bond film in the 60s?

The 60s were the best for Bond, but YOLT just to me seemed out of place for me.

    It is a bit over the top "Fantasy" adventure, compared to
    The others.

    Definitely agree, and plus I didn't care for Connery's performance in YOLT

    I would have to say YOLT sadly. I would love to be able to answer with OHMSS, but it is a better film. I feel dirty ranking a Lazenby film ahead of Connery :))

    Either TB or YOLT. Tough to call. TB has better Bond girls, and a better Connery, but just isn't that exciting compared to YOLT which is just a delight. Dead heat because both rank highly

    I couldn't possibly decide, I love them all beyond the capacity for logical thought. So here's the fencesitting option: CR67.

    I agree that YOLT is the worst of the 1960s Bonds and probably where the rot (i.e. lack of fidelity to Fleming) really set in, to be expanded upon in the Bond films that followed in the 1970s. Scriptwriter Roald Dahl didn't really understand Bond or the Bond films either I feel and I would have loved to have seen his Garden of Death on screen given his own dark and macabre imagination. In fact, Dahl hated the YOLT novel and decided to turn to the newspapers and the on-going Cold War Space Race between and US and Soviet Russia for inspiration instead. The more's the pity in my book.

    TB. As much as the Underwater Scenes are still Breathtaking nowadays, parts of the Film do drag. TB to me has always been a Showcase for the Tropical Locations -{

    Since this is 'least favourite' as opposed to 'worst' I have no trouble picking FRWL. All of the Sixties Bonds were great, but FRWL is (for ME) the slowest. If the whole movie were like the last part on the train with Grant, it would be my favourite.
    Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

    I might just be one of those with the pitchforks. :)) I think it speaks to how good the Connery era was if FRWL is your least favourite.

    I've come to the conclusion that depending on what age you are, your
    Perception of the films change. :)) as a kid I loved MR and YOLT etc and
    Thought FRWL & OHMSS as very slow indeed.
    As I matured ( into a fine handsome " Stallion " of a man :)) ) I got to
    Appreciate the fantastic characters and Story telling these films can put
    across. -{
    Now, I'll still watch and enjoy the rather " sillier" Bonds, but my heart belongs
    To the ones that stay close to Fleming or at least try and stay in the Fleming
    Frame of mind. {[]

    Well if you're going by age, I started out enjoying Barry Nelson as "Jimmy Bond" in the 1954 version of Casino Royale. Of course, I was all of 3 months old at the time, but still..................

    Barry Nelson was he the Bond you wanted to see on your home ground BL, when
    Sir Roger took over ? :))

    Pssst.....I'll let you in on a little secret, TP. I actually like Roger Moore's Bond better than Barry Nelson's. But let's just keep this between us, okay? I wouldn't want to tarnish my reputation. :))

    Ha! The distraction worked- the ropes sit in a pile; we climb like Hunt:hands & feet only. Recuperating from yesterday's climb- on the lake in a canoe today. Big climb Thurs or Fri.

    Okay guys, I can't help it; I love YOLT. Yeah, I guess it's objectively the worst of the Sixties lot, but even there you see what solid gold the 60's were!!

    Watched a documentary recently on TV about a bloke who climbs
    Buildings,cranes anything really. Totally mind blowing stuff.

    i may have exaggerated it a bit: we aren't quite doing the Star Trek V type climbing, more like what Rambo did in First Blood. :))

    I can't pick the worst here. The 60's Bond films are still the very best ones. Goldfinger and From Russia with love are masterpieces. The others are all classics too. I could probably pick the worst from any other decade, but the six Bond films of the 1960's are exempt. :D Rich.
