Bond Movies You Don't Have A Serious Single Problem With

chrisisallchrisisall Western Mass, USAPosts: 9,061MI6 Agent
Not your favourites (although that might certainly be the case), but Bond movies that contain no issues for you, no moment or moments you wished didn't exist or that were done very differently. And NOT ones you love, but excuse stuff for because of that.

Here are mine:
DN
FRWL
GF
YOLT (No, the turning Japanese thing doesn't bug me at all, really)
OHMSS
TLD
LTK
QOS

Why no Moore films on my list you ask? Because I can't think of one I wouldn't want to see at least one SERIOUS change to, even my favourites.

Your turn.
Discussions on this might be interesting...
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

I don't have a problem with Roger Moore's films, i watch his films for the comedy value. I love his sense of humour in them. Goldfinger, as a film is flawless. Very bondian. A great viĺlain in Gert Frobe, a stunning Bond girl in Jill Masterson and Coñnery is clearly enjoying himself, really giving every scene his all.
Have you ever heard of the Emancipation Proclamation?"

To be honest I don't have a problem with the films running from 1962-1989. I enjoy the tarzan yell, beach noys, and even Blofeld in drag. Because solid talents of saltzman and broccoli were behind them.

I do have a problem with those running from 1995 to 2002 (the dark years) as the tone is all wrong. Casting, scripting, direction were all wrong and I very rarely mention those ones. I came out of the cinema thinking the Bonds were slowly sinking...

Since 2006 I have renewed energy and cant find anything wrong with them. A new golden age...

I totally love these two, but BOTH have things in their PTS's that I would really love to see changed a lot. Pierce pulling a Spock from Star Trek V, & Sean pulling a Professor Robinson from Lost In Space. X-(

I would say GoldenEye. It just seems like it has everything as near perfection as possible. Great locations, considering it's after the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, which also goes for the story too. The score may not be liked by too many people, but I think it really fits this movie well. The actors and their respective characters were picked just right I think, each one is completely believable. The tank chase is one of my top favorite chases of the series.
1, GE 2, CR 3, SF 4, TWINE 5, Spectre 6, TMWTGG 7, DAD 8, LALD 9, AVTAK 10, LTK 11, Octopussy 12, Moonraker 13, TLD 14, GF 15, QOS 16, Tomorrow 17, FYEO 18. TSWLM Not seen much: Dr. No, Russia, Thunderball, Twice, Majesty.

    1: Brosnan 2: Craig 3: Moore 4: Dalton 5: Connery and 6: Lazenby

    On 'the other site' I was asked what film from 1995 to now was the best overall Bond movie, and I chose Goldeneye. -{

The score may not be liked by too many people, but I think it really fits this movie well.

Without repeating my well-known dislike of this score, I'd like to point out one moment in the PTS. Bond has fallen into the plane (wisely left without dramatic music) then wrestles with the controls as the plane dives. The plane disappears behind a snowdrift for a suspenseful second or two.... then reappears, climbing. This is the exact moment the Bond Theme should appear in all its glory.... except it doesn't.

Possibly only OHMSS, TSWLM and maybe SF. The reason I would pick these three is that the cinematography is supreme and carries you along all the way plus they are all fairly out there compared to the other films with regard to direction they went in which makes it harder to nitpick and make comparisons with the other films.

There are some Bond films which are far from perfect, but there's no "single serious problems" that offend me.

Whereas other Bond films, even great ones like Goldfinger, have major issues.
