Doesn't TLD feel like a Moore film?

It may seem strange, but after watching TLD, I've noticed it could have easily passed as a FYEO style Moore film.

Other thoughts on this?

Nope, sorry, not in my estimation. Some Mooreish elements surely as to be expected given a direct follow up to his tenure & the same director, but it has a whole different vibe IMO.

I would agree that its the era. Also they wanted to keep some similarities between Moore and Dalton or they would lose audience

FYEO is becoming my favourite Moore film the more I watch it.
I guess comparing TLD to FYEO makes some sense in general tone.

The Rosika Mikklos scene where she distracts the worker by putting his head into her breasts is hardly serious. Then there was the magic carpet scene, which was wisely left out of the film.

To be honest they removed as many Roger bits and realised what a serious actor they had in Dalton. But there were lots of little Moorisms ie sliding on a cello case, the jettisoned carpet ride..

That was the way the Bonds were written

The acting is terrible in that scene. The dialogue is awful. Just makes me angry. X-( X-( X-(

The writers get in to a flow of writing for an actor or style of film
So when the actor changes, it can ( sometimes) take a while to
Get to grips with the new actor/style/direction, they're taking.

So could Sir Rog at first! In the LALD documentary he says he had to struggle not to say his lines (esp THE line) shomething like Shir Shean shpeaks.

Before filming on Live And Let Die had even begun Roger Moore crashed a speedboat during a practice run and broke a tooth and damaged a knee. He then succumbed to kidney stones during filming. And yes, he had to avoid the comparisons with Sean Connery and Simon Templar as much as he could. Despite these things Roger said he only really felt the nerves/pressure shortly before the premiere of the film.

If anything, Skyfall feels like a Moore film. Silva is clearly a Moore villain, so OTT & with a totally impossible plan...
