Arduino or Raspeberry Pi users here at all?

Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone here uses either a Ardiuno or Raspberry Pi?
I'm thinking of using one for a model but have no experience with them. I don't want to be pestering someone every 5 mins but would appreciate some pointers if someone is willing to spend some time helping me.
