what's your coolest Bond experience?

mine was when I visited sevaral locations in London (MI6, charing cross tube entrance) and when we went to Piz Gloria for my birthday last year.
I currently am trying to top it with attending the SPECTRE premiere in Berlin or Zürich.

    I have 3 of them:

    1. Having made it down to Akime/Japan and visit the fishermen village locations there. The trip down to Kyushu is an experience itself!

    2. Piz Gloria - particularly skiing down to Mürren

    3. Being an extra for 2 days during the making of TND
President of the 'Misty Eyes Club'.

Dalton - the weak and weepy Bond!

Nice. I've been close but never made it to Piz Gloria. I guess you took your avatar photo yourself while at Vauxhall bridge?

Me? I've seen Little Nellie fly & I've sat in the TSWLM Lotus. I also got up close & personal with many of the weapons featured in the movies at a special exhibition which was once held at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK.

Can we extend to personal Bond like experiences?

From the top of my head I guess it would be skiing an entire afternoon on one ski just like Lazenby in OHMSS. I did several red and black runs that way and I have to say that you do attract quite a few odd looks skiing that way. I must be on dozens of pictures :)

    Bond like experience:

I've had a few heart stopping moments. I've been involved in many high speed car chases (me doing the chasing!) I've been involved in many fights & taken down some really nasty characters on my own when required, I've had people try to kill me.

maybe another one: over 5 years ago I was at a kart-track that had multiple levels and I silently was humming the "time to get out" track from QoS

Being on the tanker set of The Spy Who Loved Me. They were taking it apart at the time and constructing the Fortress Of Solitude set for the Superman movie. Then in 1997 working at Pinewood (Soundproofing one of the sound stages) and on my lunch break sneaking into the 007 Stage to watch then film the Bond v Stamper fight scene on board the Stealth Ship.

Having shirts made by Frank Foster. He made shirts for Roger Moore in all of his Bond films, plus Lazenby for OHMSS and Connery for some Bond films. No one person has worked on the wardrobes of more Bond films than he has.

attending the SPECTRE premiere in Berlin

Do you have any info on if, when and where this might take place? I thought there was only the premiere in London so I was hoping to catch one of the first (english language) screenings on German soil. But so far no luck with individual cinemas' websites...

If there is a premiere in Berlin it definitely for 100% will take place at the Sony Center like all premieres. as for if there is a premiere I can only assume it since the last 4 Bonds had one...in Berlin :)
If contacted Sony pictures for further info but no response within a week X-(
    I'll try again later...

Landing in a snow covered field in a military helicopter to raid/search a house for suspected terrorist items carrying a Stirling sub-machinegun, not quite Piz Gloria but :D

For the course of my duties I was assigned a three digit identification number, unfortunately it wasn't 007.

I signed the official secrets act.

Some of my work, especially when I was posted to the intelligence section, was secret (though I had signed the OSA beforehand anyway)

I was bestowed with special powers by the Government (though not of the superhuman variety!) but not a license to kill.

I got to 'play' with specially adapted ultra high performance cars.

On a combined multi agency op ,SAS,SBS,MI5,MI6,MET,KENT,French German,Dutch, police (they didn't ask the Belguims :)) )Rumours FBI had been invited to observe ,but I was picked as driver , go to A pick up Mr Z, take him to were ever ,and I mean were ever ,Downing st ,House of Commons ,Heathrow, ect , To cut a long story short (yes get on with it AS (TP) ), I was dobbed to take this MI6 man in my unmarked vehicle ,to where he wanted to go , (I didn't ask) So there we was zooming up the M20 at 2 in the morning ,pitch black in the rain , He seemed a nice guy ,certainly no James Bond ,I looked more like James Bond :)) get off here he said ,so off the exit ramp ,and drove to a retail park .Could you park over there he politely asks , sure no problem (why are we here ?its pitch black and all the shops are shut) 8-)
Over in the corner a parked up vehicle flashed his head lights , "flash back he asks ,again we get the return signal ,oohh eer
I saw this the other night on the IPCRESS file ,So the parked vehicle pulls over next to me and we all gets out ,
Fellow Mi6 agents no doubt ,I didn't ask ,Out of the blue ,also parked up in the shadows ,comes a Police Volvo estate.
They give us a quick strobe of the blue light bar ,and then they get out ,So now there is 5 of us in this crappy retail park car park ,in the fine drizzle ."Ere wots going on ,says one of the officers ,I identified myself ,"why are you driving this ,this isn't a Police vehicle ,and who are you , the 2 men identified themselves .You could see the 2 officers were puzzled ,are these guys real ,after all ive never up and till that day seen a MI6 badge ,and probably nor had they. "Why you with these men ,before I could explain ,one of the MI6 guys says , you don't say anything ,they don't need to know ,"I want some answers says one of the cops .We have told you who we are and he is working for us (oh goody ive been field promoted) :D
Why arnt we told whats going on ,said one of the now frustrated cops , "You don't need to know says MI6 and it went on
Until eventually a radio call ,came into the cop car basically telling the 2 cops to leave us alone .All good fun ,but scary non the less :)
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

Being flown down to London to work on two different court cases concerning a certain piece of music (which everyone here would recognize), being put up in a classy hotel and meeting several well-known figures in the Bond world.

Narrowly missing being blown to smithereens in both of the 7/7 bombings a few years back... I'd been on the same tube lines minutes before, in fact the second bomb went off below ground (Euston) as I was standing above it.

Crikey...that must have seemed surreal and sh*t scary at the same time....

Mmm, my Bondish moments... well, Bond Girl moments... spear fishing in the Caribbean a la Honey Ryder...
Skiing in Whistler, a la Elektra King....

...oh and attending rather swanky drinks parties when my father was the defence attache in Amman. Not to mention having diplomatic immunity status - (which got me out of a pickle once, when returning back to the Ambassadors residence rather intoxicated :)) )

[*]Some pretty legendary, scary and thrilling drives[/*]
[*]Low-level ops where we flew so low under the radar that we followed every little contour of the terrain in an Iroquois helicopter (me always in the gunner's seat, making it a really hairy ride!)[/*]
[*]Being waterboarded/dunked, almost drowned during interrogation training[/*]
[*]Undercover/sleeper work *watching* a, rather ambitious but foolish, group of thugs attempting a "job" way above their pay grade[/*]

When I see the Casino Royale Aston Martin crash it always reminds me of a little incident I was involved in many years ago. I was driving an unmarked vehicle along a country road in the early hours of a winters night, I was driving fast, faster than was permissible for the road conditions but I was responding to a call. After hitting a patch of black ice the vehicle broadsided the kerb & flipped. This was pre seat belt days, hence I wasn't wearing one. It came to rest on its roof in a field after a number of rolls leaving me to crawl out in a bit of a daze. Miraculously aside from a few bruises I suffered no injury!

A little bit 'skyfallish' but I once had occasion to rescue someone who had fallen through the ice on a frozen lake. Fortunately he was on the edge so the water only came up to his chest but he was in quite a bad way because he couldn't get out. I managed to get him out but went in the water myself in the process. It was a 'little acorn' that day I can assure you!

A few car chases and one crash when the police car I was in hit black ice and landed 50 mtrs away from the road in a field , the rather attractive police woman in the back seat landed in my lap but no witty comment ;) Shot at a couple of times, blast bomb thrown at my Land Rover . Been on fire twice due to petrol bombs , thank god for Nomex !
