Are you looking forward to Fleming's stories in the public domain?

There has been some talk about how Ian Fleming's Bond stories will be in the public domain in less than 20 years. Do you look forward to that day or do you dread it? The good part of it is that it's more likely in that time we will see the proper adaptations of Fleming stories on film or television that we've never seen before. Someone with more creativity than EoN can have a chance at making a better Bond film. Perhaps it will be someone from here!
On the downside, the market could become oversaturated with Bond, there could be some Bond films that turn out worse than Die Another Day, or EoN may give up on Bond seeing that Bond might not be as special. Perhaps some of these are overreactions, but who knows what can happen. What do you think will happen?

I also noticed that the hate-wave seems to be moving, and it's SPECTRE that is being criticised the most recently. I expect DAD to go the way of OHMSS and from one of the most underrated to become one of the most appreciated movies.

Of course competition could force Eon to sharpen their pencils and deliver better stories in their films, and id love to see the garden of death on film.
Casino Royale and Dr No are very different movies that share very little. We connect them because of the shared tradition and other movies between them, not because they are about the same character.
SPECTRE is getting most of the criticism recently because it's the most recent film...DAD will never get the love that OHMSS has...there is just too much wrong with it...
Well, I don't love it but I do think it is often unfairly maligned. Sure, it has plenty flaws (which Bond film doesn't?) but there's lots of good stuff there too.
Where did you get that idea? I have much appreciation for Fleming. I just believe there is much to the Bond films that has value beyond what is taken from Fleming's source material.
Edgar Rice Burroughs died in 1950, so there's a few more years until they're all in the public domain.
can you come up with all new adventures. Such as Bond fighting vampire

I think that when character of Bond is in the public domain, anything that EoN hasn't done to change Bond from Fleming should be fair game. But I heard that two Bond films from now will feature Bond fighting vampire zombies, so that will not be allowed.
DAD has probably the coolest 007 car ever, equal to the DB5 and submarine Lotus, so that alone stands for something. And most recent films usually get the most praise. DAD did at the time (and was also the most commercially successful 007 movie when it was released), and more recently Skyfall got almost universal praise too. The reason SPECTRE is being criticised has nothing to do with Craig (it was his most convincing Bond portrayal) or with being recent, but everything to do with a badly written plot and with ripping off Austin Powers... So yes, DAD is not perfect, and a few things could have been done better, but the same can be said about almost any Bond movie.
