Seeing James Bond films for the first time

Hello friends.
I wonder if anyone here at ajb has not seen all James Bond Films yet. I have only become a fan of James Bond in the last two years or so. I have seen not all films yet. I look forward to seeing the following films for the first time.

Goldfinger, On her Majestys Secret Service, Octopussy, The Living Daylights' License to kill, and all Brosnan films exept for Goldeneye and Die another day.

To be honest, I envy you having the opportunity to view these classic films for the first time. I have watched all of the films many times over, but when I first joined AJB I'm not sure that I had seen all of the films. The last five that I got round to seeing were On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever, For Your Eyes Only and Licence to Kill. I finally got to see them when one of our South African TV stations did a Bond marathon in 2004. I can't quite remember, but I suspect that this happened just before I joined the forum.

Whenever there's an opportunity of watching a Bond film at a local movie theater (for example, GF was locally shown a year or two ago), I wish I could "unwatch" the Bond movies and enjoy them on that big screen as a Bond virgin of sorts, since I was too young or haven't been born yet when the early Connery Bonds were released.

I had never seen Moonraker, Octopussy or AVTAK until last year. Having heard so many bad things about them, I've avoided watching them for a very long time, only catching glimpses on television. I wasn't too impressed with Octopussy or AVTAK, but I very much regret not giving Moonraker a chance years ago. I ended up loving it, and I've already rewatched it 5 times in less than a year.

I had heard so many bad things about Man With The Golden Gun, View To A Kill, Thunderball and Moonraker that I left them last.
MWTGG stands as my personal favorite Moore era film due to its good use of camp and seriousness, even if it had the potential to become an even better film...View To A Kill is a very good film but Moore had gotten a little bit long in the tooth, fascinating villains/women and excellent locations...shame Moore didn't make way for Dalton earlier...Thunderball was a fine film in its first act but it got suicidal-tendency boring in the last hour. Moonraker is a special kind of film, I cannot find the right words but it is majestic, truly out of this world entertainment.

Specifically, why did you pick these two of the four he was in?

I understand not wanting to watch Die Another Day but why not Goldeneye, it's arguably the better film.

hello OGG007. I see these films as they were on the television. I work on the night shift and when the James Bond films are on at night I am most times at work. I did not pick them out, but just was at home when they were on the television.

Just so you know there are only two other Brosnan films besides the two that you mentioned.
Have fun...they are all good! Try not to have a bias against any film due to bad reviews or reputation.

The last Bond films I watched, were OP, TWINE and LALD.
This was before SF and SP came out of the cinema, as I had become a Bond fan during the 2008-2012 Bond drought.
There was no real reason as to why they were at the latter end of my Bond viewing experience, especially because I lapped up the lighter Roger movies, I think it was just because I couldn't get my hands on them.
I attempted to watch OHMSS early on in my Bond fandom and I remember hating it.
Bond wasn't Bond.
Long dull scenes at the Clinic with no action sequences.
I gave up on the film, and some of you may even remember me openly slagging he film on this forum.
A year or two later I saw it on special at the DVD store and bought it, aware that many said it was an untouchable classic. So I went in with an open-mind, and sure enough, I was impressed.
It's not my favourite Bond film, but I'm proud to say it's a film i watch a lot, always with a big grin on my face. Suceeding with moments of kick-ass action, comedy and a surprising amount of pathos for a Bond film. (Unsurprising, as the Bond films resemble good films).
Now I feel like I've matured enough to love all the Bond films.
I do, however, need to give NSNA another watch, having only seen it once.
And even though there are moments in DAD that I love, I know I need to rewatch it as it defintiley deserves more respect than what I give it.
But as for you, Joshua, man who chases purse-stealing robbers, I envy your position as well. Hope you enjoy them all! -{ Would love to hear your thoughts on them.
Every Bond film is worth watching.

Thank you. I enjoyed all the James Bond films I have seen. I think my favourite one it this times is the man with the golden gun. This is a good film with action and many laughs. I think another film will take this when I seen them all.
