Iconic Alternatives Classified(s)

Hi everyone!
Normally I don't like bringing Iconic Alternatives topics out of the dedicated thread, but I think this is something many here will find interesting. Today I'm opening a new section of the site for AJB007 forum members: the IA Classified(s).

This is a free-to-use marketplace for Bond fans. Think of it as a mini-ebay for those of us looking to buy and sell 007-related clothing, shoes, watches, props, whatever. You can get started here:

http://www.iconicalternatives.com/listings/

Why a classifieds section? I know many of us here are looking to buy/trade/sell some of the pieces that we have. But often our individual "WTS" or "WTB" topics get lost in the shuffle of the forum. So, as with affordable options, I thought it would be easier if we could organize everything in one place.

Of course, I will always recommend listing the things you want to buy/sell/trade here on AJB007 as well! But my hope is that with the Classified(s) you will be able to reach a wider target market more easily and find more affordable options than before.

I would like to keep IA related discussions in the Budget Bond Collectors Resource thread, so this post is just an announcement. If you have comments, suggestions or criticisms about the Classified(s), could you please post them in that thread?

Thank you again and I really look forward to hearing your feedback!

Does this mean that all "FS", "WTS" and "WTB" posts on AJB Clothing, etc will be routed to IA Classifieds? Either that or we could have a sticky thread similar to "The Great Ebay Thread" devoted to all non-eBay listings. I would also like to see a similar sticky thread for all sizing posts. I know I'm a still a FNG (F'ing New Guy) to this forum but its frustrating going through old AJB posts for information on JB clothing and having to sift through dozens of these posts. I think we could learn from your great idea, canoe2, and clean up our little section of AJB.

    Thanks David! {[]

    Secret Squirrel:
No, there will be no automatic routing of FS and WTS posts here to my website. People will need to create a separate listing on IA. And, as I said, I encourage people to keep posting their FS items here. If you want to also create a listing in the Classified(s), it should help keep our FS posts organized and curated.

If you also have something already listed on ebay, grailed, therealreal, etsy or another online market place, you can easily add a link to the IA Classified(s) listing profile back to that 3rd party platform. We do not process any payments on IA, so all transactions between buyer and selling take place off site. So if you want to create a simple listing on IA to promote your item to a wider audience and then link to ebay or wherever in the IA listing profile to go to a more detailed listing and/or complete payments, that's easy to do.

And you can also create WTB listings in the IA Classified(s). You just need to use "WTB" in the listing title and include a pic of the item you're looking for.

One of my plans is to publish "Best of the Classified(s)" posts every month so the things folks are selling keep getting some attention. With that and the function of linking to existing ebay listings, I'm not sure we would need another sticky post here and we can keep all IA related discussions organized in the Budget Bond Collectors Resource thread.

But I love the idea of creating brand sizing guides here as a reference! I see a lot of those types of threads on styleforum.net. For example, here's one for R.M. Williams:

    http://www.styleforum.net/t/21179/rm-williams-boots-everything-you-wanted-to-know

It's out of date, but it gives an idea what a sticky post like that could look like.

All the best and enjoy your Sunday!
