Did anyone notice in the Bahama's the guy that throws Bond his car key: "Are you going to make me wait all day" sounded a little like Goldfinger (looked like he was coming back from playing golf) with his gold Range Rover. Which of course Bond recks. A pretty interesting Easter egg so to speak?

I honestly haven't cared for Bond since wasting good money to see The World is not Enough, but Casino Royale sucked me right back in.

All said, I loved CR because of the return to developing the character, as opposed to drowning him in gimmicks and gadgets. Of course, Daniel Craig was excellent as a newly minted 007, and any worries that he couldn't develop from a young arrogant Bond into the suave "Connery" Bond were dashed with the end sequence.

The remaining cast was suitable, while at times overshadowed by Craig's presence, M, Mathis, and Le Chiffre being notable exceptions. But lets be honest, This is a Bond film, and Craig makes it his own.

The Story was contemporary, and believable, while suffering from pace issues... My one complaint was the pacing of the film: specificaly, the chunk of time devoted to the "love" story. A movie of this length has to keep the pace up to keep the audience interested.

The action and stunts were awesome and semi-realistic (no free-falling into crashing airplanes), which separates it from some of the sillier action sequences from previous 007's.

    Rating (000 - 007): 006

Im a bit late coming to this but CR was ok!What made it look more than just ok was the music and scenery, that house and lake at the end of the film was just beautiful.Daniel Craig didnt do it for me, I thought his acting was overplayed and his features reminded me Im afraid to say more of Norman Wisdom than James Bond.Yeah!ok I grew up with Sean Connery as Bond and there hasnt been anyone to touch him.His fight scene in the train with Robert Shaw in From Russia with love was much more realistic than the laughable fight with the Ugandans in CR.If CR was the film getting back to the old days of Bond then it has failed. The chase at the beginning of the film was straight out of a Batman or Spiderman movie and made me squirm. This isnt about how much money it took at the box office (it certainly did that)but what true (older)fans like me thought of the film and like I stated at the beginning of my post it was just OK.

Good when I first saw it but get's worse with each viewing. It's a great plot, with a great cast and crew supporting it. Along with a great budget of $130million. There are only tho let-downs about this film.

    1. Too long, most bonds go on roughly 120mins bt have gradually got longer and longer and the script made a shorter bond book into the longest bond film and to be honest it's in my top. 10
for longest films I've ever watched. This goes on for 140 mins but could easily have been trimmed down to 120.

    2. Re-boot. I know the producers wanted to put more life into bond after the disasterous DAD but that's no reson to screw up an already messed up timeline!!!

My opinion: 003 out of 007
