This might be of interest to some of you, a quick look at the 747 as used in Casino Royale and as appears in the background of Top Gear whenever they do a track feature.

    Cool, Si. Thanks for posting!

I'll never forget the look on Bond's face :o as that tanker truck skidded, sideways, to a stop---scant feet from this 'Skyfleet Prototype' B-)

Very cool- I managed to have a look at this when they were filming Casino; I popped to the airfield to have a look at what was going on. Some new planes, lots of lampposts, and that baggage cart that the tanker smashed through were all in evidence!

Although I think I might be right in saying that that 747 probably only appears in the close-up shots right at the end of the chase; most of the other shots I'd guess were of a model as the top section of the film plane is very different to a 747.

It was touched up with CGI, but it is the 747 being towed out of the hanger. The top half of the 747 and the falling house in Venice were the only bits of CGI in the film.

(In the second link, if you look closely, you'll see the logos of the airlines who "ordered" the Skyfleet jet)

Fair enough- thought it migfht be something like that. The shot of it in the hangar is a model, though.

Plus of course there were lots of little CGI additions and subtractions to the film (Miami backdrop; air ram in the bottom of the Aston, wire removal etc.), but I'm sure it's the only big bit. Oh, there is the big CGI 747 passing by too, of course.
