SPOLIERS: What was your Bond moment in SF?

A7ceA7ce Birmingham, EnglandPosts: 655MI6 Agent
When you think to yourself, that's it, that's why i'm here....

For me probably
the lift jump.
Would have said the train cufflink pull if I hadn't seen it 100 times before the film.

Actually did enjoy the
very first cue in the corridor in first moment of the film - but actually think it would have been better to be played when JB came into focus and his eyes were highlighted - then that would have been my Bond moment.

I agree on the cufflink moment. There is also the moment when 007 drives out of the garrage and the whole casino sequence.

Agree with all of those choices.

Also the sneaking into M's flat. Craig's Bond seems to have a habit of doing that :))

Aerial shot across city, close up of Bond swimming in rooftop type pool.

Banter in car with gal about the wing mirrors in opener.

Craig sarcy attitude towards analyst, and nice direction of analyst 'now now' in very small role.

Good joke with Q: 'Gun.. and a radio. Not exactly Christmas is it'.

Maybe jumping on back of tube train, always thought that would make a good Bond stunt actually. Well done.

When the bond theme kicks in as he drives out the garage in the AM-DB5 is definitely the bit that made me smile the most, along with the cufflink thing. I also enjoyed when Bond sighed when he found out he was to board the train and when he raised his drink to Severines Bodyguards in the casino!
    Now, they only eat rat.

When Bond goes to flick the red ejector switch in the DB5 - pure genius.

I loved his wide-eyed reaction to seeing the Komodo dragons whilst being carried upside down by the goon.

for me that aerial shot from the DB5 on that long road in Scotland.
In all honesty, I did not have many Bond moments in SF

The scene where Bond makes a move on cougar M in the old house and she judo chops him put me in mind of him and Pussy Galore.

First of just seen Skyfall WOW absolutely loved it start to finish , my Bond moment is after MI6 gets blown up and Bond says something like "they managed to demolish half the building and that bloody dog survived" brilliant and he gets left it in Ms will .
  • LexiLexi LondonPosts: 3,000MI6 Agent
    For me, it was:

The DB5 - and M's quip about it hardly being inconspicuous....

The conversation with Severine in the casino.... and Bonds quip about the waste of a good drink once she was shot....

    Then the roof top scene at the end... and of course the last act... the padded door, the FYEO file.... then the gun-barrel. -{

    There are so many, but...

    - when Bond opens the Garage.. Tadaa... DB5 with Bond Theme.
    - Shanghai Silhouette Fight Scene
    - when the Chimera heads to the lost City, Bond with Severine on Deck and the Henchmen in the background
    - Complete Lodge Sequence
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
Loved Bond shooting the fire extinguishers.
    Winking at Mallory.
displaying the DB5 for the first time.
the smirk on his face walking away from Monepenny.
    The banter with Q.
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
  • Agent82Agent82 Posts: 65MI6 Agent
    DB5 Unveiling - awesome
Banter with Q - I like the recast Q, he makes sense in modern times
Most everything about Kincaid especially the "You hopped up little sh%&" line or whatever it was.
The lodge scene - I just loved it, everything about it was fresh for a Bond movie (well, maybe not fresh in a movie in light of Home Alone)
The new M's office, door, Moneypenny. Awesome.
  • ThunderpussyThunderpussy Behind you !Posts: 63,792MI6 Agent
I also like after Bond feeds the Villain to the Komodo Dragons
He quips to Eve something about
    " It's the circle of life " :))
Craig's Bond suits these more cruel dry Lines rather than the funny Moore stuff.

When a giant female hand drags down James Bond in the really weird pre-title sequence.

    The entire island lair sequence.

Bond leaping on the back of the tube train pulling out of the station (with some very Moore-ish humour: 'Someone's keen to get home!' and 'Health and safety...' :)) ).

When the old manor and helicopter gunship blow up (with the collumn of flames from the wreakage being seen for miles), followed by when Bond grapples with that surviving henchman beneath the surface of the frozen lake.

And finally when Bond meets Moneypenny for the first time in the Craig era and the new M sitting in the old MI6 office (it even has the hat stand).
'Alright guard, begin the unnecessarily slow moving dipping mechanism...'

Well there were quite a few good ones but the ones that made me smile the most were....

When Bond gets SUPER PISSED X-( at the death of his Aston Martin. I thought that was a bit strange when they just kept shooting it until it exploded and Bond looked extremely upset. But then the Bond theme started playing in EPIC MODE and I was like YES!!!!! YES YES YES! YES YOU KILL THEM BOND! NOBODY MESSES WITH YOUR ASTON MARTIN :D

Also the whole end scene from when I realized what was going on. The second I saw that hat rack I knew what was going to happen! From that moment until the gunbarrel and the 50th anniversary logo I couldn't stop smiling.

Aaaaah, what a great time for Bond fans!

    The wink.
Kicking the gun to Eve during the gunfight, which he does with complete nonchalance.
The expression on Bond's face when the DB-5 gets blown up.
The moment the train comes through the hole caused by the explosion. "Was that for me?" "No, but this is." Probably Silva's best line.
When Silva removes his teeth, keeping alive the Fleming theme of a bad guy with a deformity.

    So many!

    - opening moment in the corridor
    - bond in dinner suit arriving at the casino
    - MI6 blowing up (could have heard that from my house!)
    - Bond re-training in the gym

So many things made me smile with a knowing glee, as if Mendes & co had crafted the film just for me. Those I can remember:-

Bond coming down the corridor into dramatic close-up

Bond chucking the laptop to one side (Craig does that discarding of things he has no use for so well in all his films)

Bond collapsing from exhaustion after performing chin-ups

Bond clinging on to the bottom of the Shanghai lift with his left hand due to the pain in his right shoulder

Bond's arrival at the Macau casino by boat

Severine's nervous hand shake as she talks of Silva

Bond raising his glass to Severine's minders prior to the casino fight

The use of Charles Trenet's song 'Boum' at Silva's lair

Silva's utterance of "But that is." when the tube train crashes through the wall (though it almost cried out for a parting shot of "Mind the gap, James!")

Bond's heroic run through London played out to Tennyson's 'Ulysses'. A bit of sophisticated class for an action film.

Bond's wink to Mallory prior to shooting the fire extinguishers

The DB5! The Bond theme! The ejector seat gag!

Mallory showing his true worth as an ally to Q & Tanner

Bond's line, "Some men are coming to kill us. We're going to kill them first."

Silva's armed henchmen making their walk to Skyfall

John Lee Hooker's song 'Boom Boom' blasting out from Silva's helicopter.

The use of the DB5's machine guns

Bond's look of anger when the DB5's blown up

Silva's look of disbelief when the helicopter crashes into Skyfall

Silva's utterance of "All this running & jumping... It's exhausting."

Bond firing the flare from under the frozen lake

Everything coming full circle in Mallory's office & Bond's eagerness to help him get the job done

There may be others but those struck me as soon as I saw or heard them. Hope others agree.

I second that, as soon as I saw it I could have left the cinema and knew exactly what would happen (in a good way, and not that I would even think of doing so!)

    Other Bond moments:

The chat about wing mirrors in the Defender
Meeting Q and both of their sarcy comments
Getting on the tube (have considered doing this myself some mornings!)
When we meet the DB5 - great line by M
When we see the end of the DB5 - Bond's face, as if saying "NOW this has got serious!"

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fight in the shadows in Shanghai.

Shot in one take and beaultifully lit by Roger Deakins, it is the epitome of Bond style and danger.

Already one of the series greatest fights.

The most Bondian moment for me was Tanner walking out of M's office at the end with the words....

    "He'll see you now"

    Classic Bond B-)

This may be strange (and/or uncomfortable for some here), but I thought Bond's "first time" quip to Silva was a rather Bondian moment where he finds a way to perhaps just ever so slightly throw off Silva's confidence and give Silva the hint that he might just be dealing with a worthier adversary than he expected.

Was going to mention this one too. Thought it was absolutely superb piece of filming and lighting.

When the garage door opened and the DB5 was there ... what a moment. Loved M's quip straight after it too to do with hardly being inconspicuous.

I'm probably one of the few who enjoyed the Eve-Bond connection, particularly once the reveal was made at the end. Thought it set the playful nature (that will hopefully be seen in the next film) up nicely.
