Managed to get on her majesty's secret service vinyl sound track for £3 from eBay,
it's the original 1969 press with the gate fold sleeve , it was a bit grubby
but I've cleaned it up and now it plays really good .....I'm very happy.
Obviously lot's of tracks missing but its still nice to listen to while sitting
and holding the nice big album cover.im gonna collect all the early bond
soundtracks on vinyl .

Still have all the 60's vinyl soundtracks from when they were released.
The jackets alone are great to hold and look at.

I can remember buying TSWLM soundtrack in 1977 just after the film was released. I also sneaked a tape-recorder into the film with a C120 tape and taped the film as well (sound only). I used to listen to the film tapes in my bedroom when doing school homework.

I've still got lots of the old vinyls. I think they're still at my parents. I'll have to look and see if they're still there. I used to take cuttings from newspapers and the TV Times about James Bond.

:)) I never taped them in the cinema, but did tape them off the TV. :))
Audio tape, no video then. ;) Then listen to them in bed. :D

Back in 2002 (40th anniversary) I took my OHMSS vinyl LP and got it signed by George Lazenby and John Glen at Memorabilia.
(same cost as a signed photo.)
Unfortunately when new, there was a jump-skip on track 2, so it's a bit imperfect.

I also had a portable tape recorder and recorded some of the dialogue of OHMSS in the cinema in 1970.
There were a lot of silent jumps when the skiing action was on-and no talking!

It is great to hear of fellow OHMSS fans doing things like tape recording in the cinema (I did too), and yes, TP I used to listen to the films for hours whilst building models, painting, or plotting my James Bond film that I would do, all in the 1970's. They played a Bond double bill every major holiday, and as early teens, we would ditch the parents and go see Bond on Thanksgiving or Christmas. My dad went with us and sneaked a Super 8 camera into the theatre. I remember the old UA logo for YOLT, and the Transamerica animated one for OHMSS. Tried to sync the tape recording and Super 8 to have my own OHMSS film, long before Beta. Next, OHMSS came on tv in 1976...and I was horrified! How could ABC do that?
I had the banner from the video store for "OHMSS now on VHS" for years...sold it to buy another artifact. Had the pic of Lazenby at the Casino. Ruffles. Bloody ruffles.
So, naturally, I tried to duplicate his tuxedo in 1981 for our Senior Prom. Nobody at the tux rental place knew what a James Bond tuxedo looked like.
So frustrating to be a Bond fan back then and have people think that Roger Moore was the only Bond.
Why didn't the idiot at the tux rental place have a ready made Anthony Sinclair suit available?
Lucky for me, and old uncle had a straight bow tie, and a black hat which was close to a Trilby.
My pal's dad hooked me up with a black shoulder holster for my replica PPK, and my date had no idea who George Lazenby was.
Needless to say, we only had that night together. Drove my Pinto to the beach, and tried to get her to walk out to the water, so we could do the beach scene. Too cold in San Francisco. So we smooched.
Oh, to have our modern technology when we were kids.
Does everyone remember watching the old films in the cinema so intently to try and memorize a certain detail about a scene?
Every time the DBS was on screen, I would squint and sit on the edge of my seat, trying to burn an impression of the car onto my mind.
I never saw the DBS in any of the OHMSS lobbycards back then. Only one w Tracy running to her Cougar I saw many years later.
    Great memories....
