I don't remember which book, but I think it was Vance/Whitfield who incorrectly interpreted Bill Tanner as an older man like in the Moore movies.
"...the purposeful slant of his striding figure looked dangerous, as if he was making quickly for something bad that was happening further down the street." -SMERSH on 007 dossier photo, Ch. 6 FRWL.....

I think that was indeed Vance. Had some dialoque of Tanner I listened to in DAF just yesterday as the matter of fact, and his voice is a bit similar to the voice he pulls on for M. (But a bit more cheerful) Still though, didn't really distract me that much!
I drive a lot with work and listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts. I have various versions all the Bond novels. I really like the David Rintoul and Robert Whitfield readings. The newer AudioGo versions are also great with the exception of Live and Let Die which is almost ruined by Rory Kinnear's voice. His American accent is beyond awful and his normal delivery isn't great.
1- On Her Majesty's Secret Service 2- Casino Royale 3- Licence To Kill 4- Goldeneye 5- From Russia With Love
Does someone here have a copy the Robert Whitfield/Simon Vance versions? I'd love to listen to them, especially because most of them got deleted on YouTube. Many thanks!
Don't confuse me with the other DutchBondFan, but be sure to follow his YouTube account. You can read my articles on James Bond Nederland: www.jamesbond.nl/author/gosse/
I download them from my local library - they are surprisingly available a lot of the time. I get them for 2 weeks at a time and take them with me when I travel.

Hello,
Do you know where I might be able to get hold of a copy of the David Rintoul audiobooks?
Thanks.
