The trainers can't possibly be an inside joke because sooner or later they appear in every single thread on the board!

As for the subject of this particular thread, I think we should start a thread to rank the pros and cons of banning the starting of threads that rank or discuss pros and cons.

okay, so ill slow down on the list/ranking/pros-cons threads. I'll still make them and comment on them, but not like every day.

You can comment everyday if you wish...but before starting new threads just have a look to see if there is already one that's either the same or very much like it - there probably will be...

Could we rate the best " Seventh minute" rank all the best bits that happen
In the seventh minute of all the Bonds. ;) Then compare the debut and last
Seventh minute in the Films for each actor.

Perhaps ask SiCo to create a separate "Listings" forum?

Yes, indeed it was and Jim over there has moved onto the 007th Chapter of the novels now. His last one was on John Gardner's For Special Services (1982).

Jim's very funny and this is an original idea of his. Alas, I used to be a member on CBn as Silhouette Man (2002-2012) and Jim has written some excellent stuff over the years:

How 'bout we ban all members who manage to turn each and every thread into a forum for their own recurring inside jokes? :v

This. Frankly, that is worse than having lots of ranking threads. If people don't have anything to add, maybe they shouldn't post.

And as for the ranking threads - I've already posted this, but whatever happened to the film rankings that used to be a feature on everyone's profile? I think it should be re-introduced; that may go some way into reducing the prevalence of ranking threads, if people are so annoyed by them.
    "Watch the birdie, you bastard!"
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,220Chief of Staff
Agreed, that was a good feature but it would need SiCo to personally bring it back.

When you have people who are friends on the same forum, this is inevitable. And if it's the forum that founded that friendship, then even more so. Forums that don't have groups of people that form friendships are not usually very good forums.
