My God, Lee is magnificent here in this scene where he gets on his boat and caresses Maud with the gun.

I always found this very creepy and embarrassing

It's creepy and unsettling. Very apropriate for a villan, a bit like Sanchez and Lupe in the PTS of LTK.

The set pieces in the QE1 is beautifully done.

    Oh Shut Up Q!

The movie sort of moves backwards by giving us another briefing with M in a bad mood

Q's part here is almost entirely straight... unusual for the character by this point in the series.

Bond is wrong in his assumption that Hai Fat wouldn't have met Scaramanga personally.

"There are very few people who hasn't heard of Bond!" Bond is basically calling himself the world's worst secret agent :))

The thug who 'sees this gentleman out' has a great henchman face. Wish he'd had other scenes.

    Nick Nack’s delightfully sadistic here.

Barbel, I sympathise to a degree. It’s depressing, this film was released when I was a minus point!

The only good part of the martial arts school sequence is Bond kicking the bowing fighter. :#

Sidetrack- I saw this film on its Scottish premiere and still have the souvenir programme (which folds out into the poster)

At this time, Kung Fu films were big in the cinema

Bond attended by two beauties in satin. (Recalls the attention he gets from the gypsy girls in FRWL.) "Heaven. Definitely heaven." (Recalls how he wakes up to Pussy's introduction of herself aboard Goldfinger's private jet.)

Gotta love how that 'bartender' in the Bottom's Up club essentially has her long hair superglued to her breasts.

I‘ve actually been in both locations.

On the new location, I was chatting with an elderly barwoman, who could tell unflattering stories about George Lazenby when he was in HK and visited Bottoms Up almost on a daily basis

Chula would have made a good adversary in other scenes, too. Shame he only gets these couple of minutes or so.
