Fantastic introduction to Renard. It was correct to cut his earlier scene.

I didn't know about this. What was the cut scene?

Regardless, yes...it's is a good intro. It's full of promise that is never quite fulfilled.

His intro reminds me of Trevelyan's reintroduction to Bond in the graveyard of monuments in GE. He's similarly sententious, appearing out of the shadows.

Training shoes were unavailable in certain areas, so highly prized.

Oh dear God, Richards' acting is awful

I feel this part of the movie is a bit slow. Reminds me of how John Glen's films sometimes sagged at about this point.

Oh... is THAT where it all started?

I actually don’t mind Denise Richards as Jones. But then, I had seen Starship Troopers before TWINE!

Scully box in total use here. Carlyle comes up to maybe Brosnan's chest.

I have no problem with Denise Richard's role or performance in this film. Don't see why you can't be a nuclear scientist and look like Lara Croft. Her attitude initially parallels Holly Goodhead's... and she plays it fine. Plus she's damned hot!

The entire underground sequence drags and slows the movie down unnecessarily

Lara Croft (computer game - not Angelina Jolie) was very popular back then and there is certainly a connection between both

Brosnan gives a strong performance of Bond's revulsion of Renard.

I find the shoot-out here a little underwhelming. Perhaps it's just that the setting feels too much like the studio set it is.

The pacing is shot to whack. Slow slow quick quick slow, for Me it’s the explosions and the music that keep it ticking nicely...

Machine that SHOULD go ping... The locator card....

The wall screen reminds me of the Tracy Brothers Comm portraits in classic Thunderbirds.

Tanner is 100% correct. M should not go out there.

It's all the Denise Richard's moments that hold me to this sequence. :x

    Then I'm about right.

Brosnan plays well when matched with an actor of Sophie Marceau's calibre.

Marceau sells the scene where she slaps Bond well.
First time I saw that, she had me doubting Bonds instincts.... till he speaks to M.

Talking of M, helicopter shot, Goldfinger homage? Feels like it.

Did we really have computer monitors that big?!
