"Conserve your gas supply. Speak only when necessary." That sort of sums up Melina's dialogue in the whole picture :))

Which one shrieked at the corpse?

The bloke in the hard shell diving suit...

I love how we see him say “Oh Sh....” on the big BOOM!
This is Thunderbird 2, how can I be of assistance?

The POV approach of the enemy diver is well done... almost in horror genre mode. In some ways the fight here in the cumbersome diving kit recalls the climax of 'Alien' (with Ripley suited up).

Like the villain at Miami Airport in CR06 - though his moment of realisation was more sudden.

The submarine vs submarine fight is my least favourite bit in this film. Once Bond and Melina are out of the wreck I'd be happier if they just went back up to the Triana and had their face-to-face with Kristatos.

The submarine fight is very inventive and it's very tense. I like it.

I like this. The enemy vessel has a preying mantis quality. And I love the nerdy technician guy who operates it. He's a creepy, new sort of sub-villain for a Bond movie.

The prob with the Neptune V Mantis battle is its very perfunctory.
If it had been done with more tension, or sense of suffocation / claustrophobia it might have worked.

Plus Neptune has size and engine power in its favour.
As it is, esp since the Mantis does not remain stuck, it feels... wanting.
    Good effort though.

More Fleming content, this time from LALD. :)

It's okay that Kristatos is understated while he's supposed to be Bond's ally, but he should have been played bigger and mlre colurful when Bond knows he's the villan.

Bond and Melina being dragged is a great scene, and it's fleming too.

Plot issue here: Considering the underwater battle that's transpired, I find it rather questionable that Bond would surface and board the original ship. He'd have to know that the enemy had taken it over.

Yes and the bigger question is, why did Melina leave that air cylinder on the oceanground?

Previous Bond directors had passed over this because they thought it would be too tricky to do. Kudos to John Glen.

He does, but only a little. I agree he could have gone just a little bit further.

Kristatos looks a little like LTK's Krest in this sequence... though he's far more 'in charge'.
