Apologies for the long absence. @Tennyson I have to agree with @Royale-les-Eaux on this one, I believe the shorts DZ is wearing in the screengrabs I posted are indeed the SA shorts.
You have to remember those amazon shorts were not brought up until early October, whereas DZ was wearing his shorts mid September and earlier.
DZ's shorts are by far more screen accurate than ANY of the suggestions raised in this thread.
We did not get confirmation that the SA shorts had zipper pockets until early October. DZ's shorts have very SA zipper pockets.
I believe its much more likely DZ has the SA shorts rather than an almost exact alternative. If such an alternative exists, we would have probably already found it! If DZ's shorts were not the SA ones, @The Bond Experience would have probably already made that clear.
Let me make it clear that I don't begrudge DZ or any other "influencers" for keeping the shorts ID private. None of us are entitled to this information, this is a frivolous hobby. This goes way beyond 'first world problems'.
I think I'll be sticking with my $20 Amazon alternatives. Don't have the time to try and peel off a logo or change a drawstring and (aside from the small notch on the hem) they're just as screen accurate and probably about the same quality.
Yep, they’re pretty affordable - compared to all the other NTDD items - but I honestly have to say, I don’t like the the look of the shorts with the printed Jed North logo at all. Let’s hope their is a way to remove the logo easily.

I concur that it may mean no one actually knows. Why someone would imply that they do when it’s untrue is beyond me though.
