To nip any drawstring conspiracies in the bud I should add that eagle eyes may note DR drawstrings are round woven whereas the Jamaica shorts look flat woven - shoelaces it is!
Im fascinated to know the story of why these particular shorts were chosen. I think it’s all but confirmed these were a backup item due to not being able to do the wetsuit they had wanted and fitted DC for. But with British Luxury brands at your fingertips like OB, TF, DR, etc., such a random pair of shorts and then changing the drawstrings and removing a screen printed logo just seems like a lot of work. Also I welcome any ideas on how in the world you get a printed logo these days off polyester?? That seems like a tall task

Well I am pleased that I got the ones suggested by iconic alternatives earlier in this thread, swapped the lace for a flat one.. same zip pockets and no logo to remove, apart from the little side splits in the hem, they are perfect for me
Never in a million years did I think a brand like Jed North would show up in the Bond universe. I've been familiar with them for years as a reasonably successful brand in the fitness world. They generally make decent stuff. These shorts are slimmer fitting but meant for bodybuilders/power lifters/anyone who squats a lot.
Definitely going to grab a pair just out of amusement for the random crossover between subcultures that I'm into.
Makes me wonder that if they are so cheap and very available why all the secrecy?.. I go back to my original thoughts, that being ‘the influencers’ didn’t actually know at all and we created that narrative!
Also not to be negative, i am glad these were finally announced BUT is anyone else slightly bummed out that basically everything said about “embargo” or “not allowed to say” etc was kinda all just a bunch of bull? Hate to say it but there’s no big reveal, theres no marketing, no deal in place, just ppl knowing and choosing not to say.
Im guessing its so content could be created and maybe even doing the work to make them screen accurate as well before getting the content up. Pains me to say it bc I hate being negative and am very gratefull for them to finally be said but.. we coulda had em so long ago. Ok my negative nelly attitude is over and done with, now will be grateful and try to figure out how the heck to get the logo off without ruining the material and also figuring out how to wear without looking obscenely revealing
It was a theory bc it was actually said briefly in multiple videos by DZ. Thats what kinda got the ball rolling with everything, but even after saying that specifically on a couple separate occasions, nothing ever happened. Again, Im always a glass half full guy so I hate to harp on the negative, but that kinda bummed me out. Its basically what I was referring to in my previous post. But hey we figured em out now though so I guess its all good!
I still don't think that we even know 100% that anyone actually did know what these were until they were revealed* today, do we? Unless I've missed something, there's an image/video of someone wearing something that looks SA but which we don't know for certain is or was the actual shorts.
*I use the word "revealed" under caution here given the cut and fabric of these shorts 😁

No magic. Those are the shorts I bought on Amazon for $19.99 a while ago. They originally came with a round black lace so I swapped it out.

The logo 100% comes off with a tea towel over the top and a hot iron and lots of patience.
