I listened to a podcast about this episode, it sounds like it was an absolute disaster! 😄
It was a bit of a disaster. The hosts of the show kept interrupting the interview with other items, and had other guests who seemed to think George was an idiot... Fiona Bruce kept reacting to him as if he was a pervert, for saying he found the Bond girls in OHMSS attractive.
The One Show is the pits of UK TV though and obviously marketed at the brain-dead.
I wouldn't say it was a disaster. Lazenby didn't get the screentime and questions he deserved, bu that isn't unusual. George Lazenby was entertaining as always and as always he told versions of the stories he usually tells.
NTTD is a comeuppance for Lazenby because it is in some ways a tribute to OHMSS.
Most of the interviews on The One Show are like that one, with ill-informed presenters, rude interruptions of guests with silly items etc. It's an insult to guests like Lazenby who are iconic to have to end up on shows like that.
