Billy Reid Pea coat - advice needed

Hi everyone !

I have a chance to buy a Billy Reid pea coat from eBay.

It looks in good condition but I wonder if anyone can put be straight on something.

The leather is quite light and the material mix is 80% wool and 20% nylon. Does the ajb007 hive mind know if the lightness of the leather is wear and tear or just how it was produced.

Would anybody be able to date the jacket from this information ?

Thank you !!!

BR used a chocolate brown leather on their Bond peacoats around 2017 or so when they were still being made in Italy. I bought one thinking it was a permanent change.

I did and still have it.

I'd have waited had I known BR would eventually go back to black leather. At the time, I wasn't certain how much longer the peacoat would even be in BR's catalog. I'll seriously consider the black coat if I ever do it over again.
