I guess since Wicked is a huge hit, Ariana Grande or Cynthia Erivo should be cast as Bond. If anything, one could say that Kraven being a bomb might enhance ATJ's Bond chances as he won't be signing on for a Kraven sequel / series. I wonder how really bad Kraven is? Guess I'll catch it when it hits Netflix in the spring and see.
Kraven has been on a hit list for some time. For all intents and purposes it was DOA when it opened in theaters. Again, I have not seen Kraven but it appears that it is not nearly as bad as alleged (my guess is it does pretty well streaming). As far as ATJ is concerned, it looks like the usual "influencers" are trying to put the "bad mojo" on him also when it comes to potentially getting the Bond role (if it was even a reality to begin with). It can be debated whether ATJ would make a good choice for Bond but basically reducing him to being a lousy actor just based upon one film that is tanking in theaters and ignoring the guy's entire body of work is a joke. This whole industry based upon destroying people just to get "clicks" is a disgrace....but sadly the world we live in now.
I'd call him a lousy star based on his body of work that I've seen. I don't think he's ever demonstrated that he's a good lead who can carry a film (also with the caveat that I haven't seen Kraven so maybe he carries it, I don't know- reviews on that seem to be mixed at best).
I don't get the feeling he's being hard done by by some online conspiracy.
I'm currently watching THE AGENCY (pretty good but slow) on Amazon Prime. It's a f@#%@#$ing shame we never got Michael Fassbender as Bond, he'd have been one of the best.

I’ve seen it. To say it’s awful is an understatement. I can’t say how good ATJ is in it, because no one can work with that material or direction however good an actor you are. Utterly pointless film.
I daresay he's on the list because he ticks a lot of the boxes, I'd be surprised if he were near the top of the list of people they actively want for it though; and I guess they're open to all of that changing once they get to a testing process.
I think the casting is taking forever because... We can cross this with other threads, re-inventing Bond topic, no Bond before at least 2 years. It's too far too cast. If I was at the helm, I wouldn't care so much to cast as much as I would want to write something good. There are many repetitive plots in the Bond movies. These don't come out often now (they came out once a year at first!) so, I'm guessing they want to make something spectacular.
I've seen comments that ATJ has a good performance in Nosferatu, which itself has a lot of positive buzz around it. But as people have said, he doesn't seem to have leading man charisma. I knew Daniel Craig was good Bond material as soon as I saw Layer Cake. I've seen films with ATJ in them and not remembered him in the film, just no screen impact at all. I find it increasingly hard to believe he'll get the gig. That Sci-Fi podcast speculation that I found about a Sony, Stargate, Bond deal being announced at xmas seems like a million miles away now for sure.
He's good in Nosferatu; so is Nicholas Hoult. Whether he's good or right or any other qualitative measures, ATJ now has the stink of Kraven on him. Optics-wise, it's unlikely they'll hang the Bond franchise on him tomorrow.
On the other hand, he'll have two 28 Years Later movies under his belt before Bond 26 starts rolling, so who knows.
As for whether he's memorable in a movie, that's down to him being a really good actor and disappearing into roles. Give Nocturnal Animals a spin.
Sam Claflin is about to age out (he's 38 now), but he looks like a young Terence Stamp (and in fact played such), and Stamp is one of the best Bonds we never got.
I guess I'm still slightly on the side preferring a white actor for James Bond solely for tradition. But if that won't be the case I think we can do much worse than getting Shazad Latif as 007. He's born in London from a Pakistani father and an English/Scottish mother. 36 years old and 185 cm ( north of six feet) tall. He's been in Star Trek Discovery and Penny Dreadful among other things. I'm watching him in the TV series Nautilus (loosely based on Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas") where he plays the lead as captain Nemo. Latif usually sports a beard, but I think he looks Bondian.
Hoult is already 35 and by the time they finally come to make Bond26 he'll be too old IMHO and he's already very well known. Elordi is too young and too tall.
Connery and Craig did not have conventional looks, they do not have the classic leading man looks like Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and I think that helps when you need someone who audiences can accept as a government assassin.
I think with the film now some years away with the EON/Amazon impasse the next Bond is not known to any of us.
I'd be looking at actors in their mid to late 20s for Bond. They'll be the right age once this actually get up and running. Anyone over the age of 32 right now is probably going to be out of contention.
Elordi is almost the age Lazenby was when he made OHMSS and about five years younger than Connery was when he made DN, so his age is an advantage. I guess his height is more a question of preferances. To me it's partly about proportions and posture. Some tall people slouch and look gangly like I did when I was young. I don't think that a problem with Elordi. The second issue is how he looks next to other actors. Connery was 31 cm taller than Lana Wood in DAF and I don't think many think that was a problem. If an actress is 31 cm shorter than Elordi she's 165 cm tall. Actresses in that height and taller aren't hard to find. The way I see it a tall leading man offers the posibility to cast other tall actors. It looks like the members of the IMF team are partly cast not to be much taller than Tom Cruise. I'm guessing some actresses were ruled out by casting because they were too tall compared to Craig. The height of a leading man (especially in action movies) isn't tall it may rules out some tall actors and actresses. If he's very tall it may rule out the shortest actresses and open up opportunities for the tallest ones. That's the end of today's math class. 😂

My reaction would be: not my favourite, but he has potential. Like with Craig I would wait until I saw the movie before passing judgement.
Never heard of him so I'd give him a fair shot, just like I did Craig.
Just after 9 minutes Grace Randolph says she doesn't expect ATJ to get Bond after the Kraven debacle.

I've heard from a few people who've actually seen KRAVEN that it's decent. Not great by any means but solid enough. There are much worse MCU films.
More and more people seem to be quite sure ATJ won't be the next Bond, especially after his performance in Kraven. I wouldn't be so certain.

And that's what constitutes a legit debate. I do not think it's so much an online conspiracy, it's just how things go these days.
The great irony is, ATJ even being considered for Bond may not even be real.

These ultra long waits are not exactly fan friendly, especially fans like me who have been going to Bond films in the theater since the 60's.
I'm hoping to see Bond 26 in the theater and not the Community Room of an Old Age home while eating food through a straw.😨

Oh, and Grace Randolph is an idiot.

Forever Clem Fandango for me.
Haven't seen it myself. Perhaps Dalton always remained Prince Barin and Roger Moore stayed Ivanhoe to some? 😂
More AI Jacob Elordi. I tried Rege Jean-Page, but the AI program I use doesn't know who he is.
Real James Bond Jr. vibes on that last one.
Nicolas Hoult looked like a tall "Young Sheldon" 😂
Aidan Turner
They're all kinda horrific and unholy looking; one hopes it's just the garbage AI.
I think both Hoult and Elordi look young for their age, but both are starting to look more mature in the last few years.
Hoult is already 35 and by the time they finally come to make Bond26 he'll be too old IMHO and he's already very well known. Elordi is too young and too tall.

Daniel Craig was doing bit parts in Drop The Dead Donkey at that age; it won't be easy to find the guy.
