James Bond's Bentley built for real

How's this for a prop building project? Tony Hunter has built Bond's Bentley from Thunderball onwards as Fleming describes it. This has a totally bespoke body designed to match Fleming's description of 'the locomotive', it's stunning, very much worth a watch.

Pardon for boasting, but while still in his planning stage, Tony reached out to me via PM here on AJB to ask about my 1/6 scale Bentley “locomotive” that I had custom made, particularly how this description or that feature as Fleming wrote might have looked in real life. At first I humored him thinking he was an over-ambitious hobbyist but then realized how serious he was!

That's amazing, have you shared pics of your model? I'd love to see please.

I think he maybe built it about three years ago, is that right?

Hi, sorry I have no current photos to share as my Bentley is in disarray within a clutter of other collectibles on the shelf. These photos are from 18 years ago!

Ah that’s wonderful, thank you: that rings a bell now I see it!

looks like you both had similar ideas around the tail of the car in particular, or maybe Tony took a little inspiration from yours. Wonderful stuff!

There was the one that came with Devil May Care too.

Oh that’s nice, I missed that. I think they perhaps haven’t made the rear end quite boxy and ‘ugly’ enough though.
