Oh wow, do they look even now?

They're fine now. It was just that when you bend your foot you'll see a line across the toe cap and a pinch where the suede bends with the foot on the inside of the shoe. That pinch just needed softening out as it was in a slightly different spot to the other foot and it cause them to scrape across the toe every step.

    They're very comfortable now.

So are we thinking mahogany or chocolate?
Given the colour in the photo - even if you accentuate the contrast- I think is the most probable option.
Definitely not black to my eye

Speaking of the Moltons, I have been wearing them for a week and they have quickly become my favorite Bond-related footwear ever, edging out the Islays.

Hey, quick question, since you have both - are you wearing the same size Moltons as you are Islays?

    Yes, same size.

The one pair of C&J boots that really gave me problems were the Radnors. The size was fine but they were so stiff my feet ached if I had to walk half a mile. Finally found some insoles that helped a bit. The irony is that the boots are never seen in Spectre but only in stills taken from the Pinewood shooting.

Thanks - I'd normally make a trip to NY to buy but with Covid I'm thinking of trying mail order, and I'm wondering if thicker socks might mean sizing up a half size on the Moltons.

I really like that new look. But agree. It just looks like Daniel Craig our and about. Not Daniel Craig.

Would love to find the shoes.

While my wallet would love if they were Palladium (and it does look like it), my brain says ugh, Bond in a mass produced pair of shoes made in China. Buuut I guess Bond did wear Converse and Nike in CR as well as J.Crew in Spectre. Palladium does have a loooong history of making good boots though, with the French Foreign Legion as a big customer.

I've been familiar with Palladium boots ever since Emily Blunt wore a pair throughout Sicario. Bit of an unexpected choice for Bond (if they are Palladium) but then again so is most of this wardrobe.

Also purchased the revised version. Initially I was on the fence about the jumper, I think it’s lovely but wasn’t sure I’d be able to distance it from being a “cosplay” style item. I feel I can get away without a layer underneath or a wide/low neck light grey t-shirt. I won’t be wearing it with any grey combats or black military boots, more likely to pair it with some beige chinos per the N Peal promo shots on the site (minus the yacht) or some light jeans.

My main contribution is that I’ve managed to neatly tuck the drawstrings in on themselves, if any of you want a cleaner line around the neck.

Can I ask the board members' help in figuring out the "revised" situation? I returned one sweater and bought another, asking for revised. I did not get the revised, but the original. I then sent the second one back to exchange for the revised and today got...another unrevised.

I am seeing 9 raised ribs on the revised smalls posted here. That is correct, isn't it? I have now received three sweaters with 7 raised ribs. I feel like N Peal is screwing with me at this point.

I specifically held back from ordering this sweater so NPeal could have time to correct this. I figured enough time had passed and ordered one this week. My small just arrived. 7 ribs. Hitman, do you have a contact person? I'm not thrilled to explain the issue to someone from scratch.

Besides the SA topic, anyone else not really excited about the feel of the jumper? Mine just arrived and it doesn´t look to me as a 450 Euro jumper... it also looked like having had some wear due to the peeling in the neck area (which I am sure it was not the case) so curious on how this would age. I am sending it back as do not feel like it´s worth the price. Funny enough I have other Npeal jumpers and they are excellent.

I spoke at length with Stefanie today re sizing of the shirt. Talked through Full measurements and compared to same of my tf shirts.

Advice given to me which I have followed is a half size up on my usual TF size (slim fit shirts).

Given collar style and fabric this makes sense as I'll likely never fasten it fully.

As in half size up on the neck measurement for the Connolly?
  • Royale-les-EauxRoyale-les-Eaux LondonPosts: 814MI6 Agent
Worth noting that Connolly can do adjustments when the shirts are delivered. The sizes didn't quite work for me out of the box so I am having mine delivered to the shop and then a couple of adjustments done by them.

I spoke to a Lady at Barbour customer services (who was extremely pleasant) reference the Barbour Graham Jacket re-runs. she laughed and said she "Couldn't answer that due to legal reasons". My take is that this is probably quite positive, no surprises that they are no doubt working on the re-release :)

Fingers crossed. Like others have said on here, I doubt Barbour wouldn’t want to take this opportunity for a rerelease. Looking at the Tokito/Commander/Beacon and how well they’ve done with that over the many years since Skyfall, they’d be silly not to make the most of another Bond connection.

Agreed JTM, it's the bloody waiting game now, something that members of this group know all about, right. They know they'll sell them, I guess they just need to pick their time right. Hey ho.

Another member on here who owns some Finamore shirts has said to go 1 full size down...
To avoid any extra confusion, perhaps the best thing to do is to simply follow the sizing chart
and hope they got it right this time.

    Clearly licensed then :))

Wonder when they will get around to launching it

    Finamore do have different fits.
This is their v slim fit (with long arm / body length).
Evidenced by the 41 having a 52cm pit to pit.
My slim fit 41 TF have a 54 measurement.
Hence half size up works for me to give same fitted but not buttonbusting look

Interesting little story picked up today
The remaking of the Connolly Jacket saved the manafacturing company....
So despite all the Bond stories hitting cinemas, Bond does in a long way round positively impact many elsewhere

Companies pay huge licencing fees to be associated with Bond which suggests it's worth their while, but I've never heard any actual figures of just what it means to some of these companies. I guess the fact that someone like Barbour, Crocket and Jones, etc are back again must mean that it's good business.

There was a some discussion about them a little earlier in the thread (around post #5580-5595) but nothing definite yet.
I've lightened the larger one I found, and you can see the tread on the heel that looks like the Palladium boot.

Open the image in a new tab and you'll be able to zoom in.

Maybe it’s me but I think a pair of brown Chelsea boots and no turn up would better suit JB. Or the
    Loake Trappers from CR.
The lower half seems more DC that JB to me.
I have the CR Converse booties so will try those instead :D

    Cheers :007)

Picked up the Molton’s today, haven’t had chance to wear properly yet but seem very comfortable.

I take the same size as my Islay’s.

I think that the wardrobe choices for this Bond are actually quite appropriate. Like many of you, I've taken many of my own styling cues from Craig since seeing Casino Royale... and then further cemented in Quantum and beyond.

    It's not a 100% thing though....

I have a critical blind spot against boat shoes. But I have no issue with Bond wearing them in his island retirement. And the likelihood of those sneaker-boots being Palladiums is also congruous with the Converse sneaks of Casino Royale. Very consistent, indeed.

Between the commando outfit, the Norway duster look, the trucker/fades look with the Aston, the corduroy Massimo suit and the formal suits and tux, we seem to be getting the most diverse Bond look-book yet....

here's hoping for more wardrobe discoveries to come...

Much thanks to all the sleuths, detectives, and bloggers/vloggers for helping all of us scratch the itch.

As a regular guy I agree, like the clothing diversity. A little bit of
    something for everyone:)

Could these models be the palladium boot he wears in the garage scene?

Palladium Pampa Hi Leather Essential Boots 76689-819
    Or
PALLADIUM PAMPA HI CUFF LEATHER BOOTS - SUNRISE

Both seem to have the color scheme, the small cloth tap
on the back and the correct silhouette

If they are Palladium, I think it would be one of the darker leathers.
