Favourite Bond song (plus a runner up or two)?

After all these years, this is still my favourite.
Diamonds Are Forever.
My runners up would be the catchy Living Daylights & the ever classic Goldfinger.
Die Another Day wasn't bad....
Yours-?
Dalton & Connery rule. Brozz was cool.

Yeah, I'd go with DAF and/or TB for faves.
My all-time favourite is the Bond Theme itself, with OHMSS as a close 2nd- but they aren't songs so don't qualify for this.

My number one Bond song is also Diamonds Are Forever. That one doesn't seem to get enough love.

    For runners up:
    2. You Only Live Twice
    3. Surrender
    4. If There Was A Man
    5. We Have All the Time in the World

I think that any Bond song John Barry wrote is a great song (except maybe TMWTGG). From Russia with Love, Nobody Does It Better, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only and The World Is Not Enough are also really solid songs. The rest aren't for me.

I am afraid to mess up with the Barry Evangelist aka Barbel, but it has to be

    You Know My Name

    followed by Moonraker
    and You Only Live Twice

    Honorable mention goes to FYEO

Good to see you back, Chris - we haven‘t seen much Dalton fanatism recently with the exception of Spectre of Defeat‘s provocative :D attempts, hope that this doesn‘t change now {[]

The Barry Evangelist has no problem with "You Know My Name", an excellent Bond song. It's the one after that which causes me to run screaming from the room. (Cue Sir Miles with his attempts at defence)

Agree TMWTGG is not up there with Barry's best, but the actual score is pretty good. If they had toned down the main theme and had Dame Shirley sing it, it would have been a better piece IMO.

That's the way I feel about All Time High. I don't love that song in its main title form, but I love how it works as an instrumental in the score. I think TMWTGG is Barry's weakest score, though the song works alright as a romantic theme but not so well as an action theme. It's still far from the worst Bond song or the worst Bond score.

Absolutely no need to defend a classic :D

Perhaps atypically, I must profess myself in agreement with Higgins on this point. Both Skyfall and Writing's on the Wall are more bombastic and Bondian songs than You Know My Name, in my opinion. Live and Let Die and The World Is Not Enough are better 'rock'-styled Bond themes to my mind than You Know My Name, which comes across as a little harsh and discordant. It suits the film relatively well I guess but isn't a top tier song outside of that original context for me.

I'm also not much of a fan of You Know My Name, but I prefer it over the other Craig-era songs. It has more substance than Craig's others, though Skyfall may win for feeling most like a Bond theme.

I actually *LOVE* the SP song, but not as in the actual film....

SF is really excellent too as is.
    CR is so good...
QOS is... well... it exists, I'll leave it at that. :))

Like Barbel, my favourite Bond theme is OHMSS, but as that's not a song I'll regretfully withdraw it.

    1. Thunderball
    2. Goldfinger
    3. is a tie between Skyfall, Goldeneye, and You know my name (which imho is a belter).

I just can't get behind SP, Sam Smith -while a talented artist - gives a vocal performance which just makes me cringe when it launches into falsetto.
"How was your lamb?" "Skewered. One sympathises."

Sorry, but this was awful! :#
The girl may be cute, but in the first 10 seconds ( and I‘ve not watched further) she did not hit a single note ( she was 1/2 tone too low) and her timing was terrible as well.

This is how a decent professional singer does it

    I must bow to your choice here sir; this was clearly a better version. -{

I much prefer a female vocal for 'Writing's On The Wall' to Sam Smith's falsetto. Jane Zhang's version is my favourite.

As for my all-time favourite Bond song, plus two runners up:

    1. Diamonds Are Forever
    2. Thunderball
    3. No Time To Die (This one's really shot up my list. It's like a minimalist, deconstructed 'Diamonds Are Forever', taking the recent trend for introspective Bond songs to its ultimate expression. This choice could just be a fad of mine, though.)
Critics and material I don't need. I haven't changed my act in 53 years.
