(N24 enters looking guilty and ashamed. He seems too study the floor really hard)

I'm really sorry. I had no intenention of violating the A. R. S. S. E., I was just trying to emulate Bond and I wasn't thinking

    (pauses, then faces the A. R. S. E. )
To make up for it, all drinks today are on me. Just in case something worth celebrating happens today :v

(The A.R.S.E prints out a statement on a paper roll. Thunderbird 2 tears this off the wall and reads it.)

"Apology accepted, and Thank You. Drinks processing underway.."

Nice work 24. I think I'll join you on the Cola front. :)

I hope more people will join us. After all SABG is very corona safe.

I'm surprise the only corona safe bar in Britain isn't visited more often. (throws another log on the fireplace)
    A Coke Zero please! Ad some ice if you can spare any. -{

    A whisky for me, please.
  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,699MI6 Agent
Someone has made a ice rink on the local football field. The kids skate and barbecue. Really nice!
The oral tradition says that's where the boathouse for the longship was and vikings fought duels there. :D

We were doing social distancing drinking before it was fashionable. :)) :))

I'll have a large glass of merlot while I'm here.

Since it's only the two of us here, the truth can be told:
It wasn't the Chinese who are responsible for all this, neither was it the Democrats or Bill Gates. It's the Nordic countries because we want everyone to do social distancing like we do naturally. It's part of our national characters and we loathe it when foreigners hug, kiss, stand next to each other and even share seats on the bus. :v
  • Lady RoseLady Rose London,UKPosts: 2,667MI6 Agent
Well, apparently is was all down to Australian frozen meat so ...

As for Bill Gates, you've obviously been chipped and programmed so you would say that :v

As a Brit, that kissing and hugging thing doesn't sit too well with us either :))

Yes, but do you teeth when someone sits down next to you in the bus?
Is someone saying "sorry" or "excuse me" to you an untollerable invation of privacy?
The only exceptions to our cultural social distancing is drunkenness and hiking. I never drink and rarely go hiking, by the way. :D

The thought of someone sitting next to me on a bus or train is the reason I never take public transport and drive everywhere :))

Obviously though 'sorry' and 'thankyou' just spill out of our mouths without thinking. I can walk into a chair and say 'sorry' :))

With due Respect M'Lady, I stopped that tic tac apologising when I hit 44! (Age not an agent 44) I will politely ask if "Is this seat taken?" or Please may I sit here?" As Kingsmen know Manners maketh man. Having said that...

One day commuting to work the morning train was crowded as usual. A woman sat down next to me, without a word, her friend had to stand. As I was at the window I was boxed in and the corridor was full - offering my seat was impossible as a result. Anyway, the woman who sat next to me started loudly gossiping about a friend who was an medical support assistant in some sort of help centre. - Openly disclosing HER thoughts on this work and the patients who had sought out help.
I have friends and family who are or have served in the NHS. So that along with the sheer crass breach of privacy and sneering unsympathetic attitude started to make my blood boil. Finally when it got to drugs and self harm, I turned round, looked her angrily in the eye, and snapped (loudly)

"Excuse Me, but Do you mind? Some of us have not had our breakfast yet!"

I turned back to the window.
Sunrise over Bristol as you approach the city from the North West is a gorgeous moment, esp on a clear day.
Momentarily taken aback, she tartly replied to her friend, "Oh dear, seems some people have a weak stomach for this sort of thing!" Blithely dissing the reasoning of my comment, trying to laugh it off. I could not and would not let that pass, so I retorted with (without looking at her)

"On the contrary, I have a very strong stomach, Thank You.
But people with no sense of decency, discretion or shame, happily fog-horning
inappropriately at the misery of others, ... makes me want to Vomit!!"

A VERY Awkward silence, she resumed talking at a whisper I glanced at her friend who looked ashamed, upset and apologetic
I could tell she was going to say something in private about the incident. I gave her a slight reassuring nod.
Decency - adults need to learn it more than the kids these days. Takes a lot to push me there, but I will NOT put up
with that sort of thing. Dangerous or potentially violent people, I leave be ain't stupid or foolhardy. But this was a line crossed I was not going to tolerate.

    Who is drinking what? :)

Take a wild guess what I'm drinking.... :))
Being polite makes life a lot easier in densly populated areas, even though a sharp comment or look sometimes is needed. But historically Norway has been sparsly populated for most people most of the time. There are now eight people within walking distance of me, and the reason the four houses are close together is just to be safe from avalanches.
As a result of all the space politeness and social rules have been less critical :D

    One large Coke Zero.

Your area sounds a bit like the part of Scotland where I grew up 24!
I'm relieved to say it has changed little in 40 years.
No, its not Skyfall - wrong side of the country for a start.
Similar terrain with more trees and farmland though.

    Hi, A.R.S.E.
I'd like some Coke Zero, please.
    If anyone joins us I'll boy one for them :) -{

Finally! I'm not used to this place being closed.

(looks at the room) Hey, you've re-decorated. It looks nice

  • Lady RoseLady Rose London,UKPosts: 2,667MI6 Agent

    Whoah!!

I don't pop in for a few days and the whole place has changed !!!

Going to need a coffee and a brandy to get my head round this 🤯

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,699MI6 Agent

Yes. After a radical re-decoration it takes a while before one feels at home. But we need to remember it's the people that matter. Where are the emojis?

  • Lady RoseLady Rose London,UKPosts: 2,667MI6 Agent

There are smilie faces at the bottom left hand side of the comments box. It's very faint on my screen. 🙂

(Walks in and looks around. The ARSE scanns the face and starts pouring a Coke Zero)

Where is everyone? All the other places are closed.

  • The Red KindThe Red Kind EnglandPosts: 3,119MI6 Agent

It's a quiet place these days.. Anyone around? (Walks round bar and helps oneself to a Blackwell Cuba Libre)

    "Any of the opposition around..?"
  • BarbelBarbel ScotlandPosts: 36,053Chief of Staff

Oh, I'm in the corner very quietly reading "Casino Royale". I'll have a coffee if anyone's asking.

  • Number24Number24 NorwayPosts: 21,699MI6 Agent

(Opens the door loudly and walks in mumbling)

-The county is closed because of the virus, skiing in the mountains is off because of the rain. Soon this place will be the only thing that's open.

(The ARSE scans the face immediately and the Coke Zero is ready almost at once)

    -Hi Barbel and Red Kind!

  • Lady RoseLady Rose London,UKPosts: 2,667MI6 Agent

    Hi Folks ...

Been a while but I think a quiet spot to sit and read my book would be welcome. I'll have a coffee and a brandy please ...
