TB2 - It’s good to see that you’ve taken my advice and added banana ketchup to the menu, thank you so much, so yes, a back bacon sarnie with the aforementioned banana ketchup please, and for a change to coffee I fancy a mug of English Breakfast tea, no milk or sugar, please.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Sadly most comics are flawed and have feet of clay. No doubt their sadness and melancholy plays into their humour.

Now where was I? Oh Yes! There is a direct Bond connection to Mr Howerd even though he never turned up in any of the films. Heres a clue. He's seen in one of my favourite Bond films!
Free bacon butty to whoever guesses correctly what it is. Ere and no making up your own jokes about it neither!

I know there was an episode of Up Pompei featuring James Bondus (played by George Baker) but I can't think what Bond film he's seen in. That's a good one. I'm guessing it's one of the earlier Bond films?

Good Guess, but no.
Oh and George Baker played the real Sir Hillary Bray in OHMSS.
Next?
(TB2 holds out a large battery pack nearthe A.R.S E. It scans it with its cylon eye, and opens a hatch in the wall wood panels. TB2 slots in the battery pack. The A.R S.E's message screen goes 🙏🏼 then 👍🏼, as the panel shuts)
Your Welcome!

Madeline Smith was in the movie UpPompeii! with Frankie, and Maddy was in LALD, of course. That’s the only link I can think of.

Good guess, but no C.H.B.
You are both right in thinking along the lines of casting, (there is a clue) but OHMSS is enjoyable and LALD scares the crap out of me! There is slightly more to it than that too.
Next?
(TB2 places several cookery books on the bar.
Digits carefully leafs through the pages, pointing out menu options. He gets very excited pointing out one.)
No, Ladyfingers are a kind of cake Digits! Think mini sponge eclairs.
👍🏼🤞🏼🫴🏼 ☕️
Oh I see, you want to make them to go with all the coffee we serve round here?
👌🏼
Okay, I'll order in whats needed, Good Idea!

He's fluent in British Sign language, and can single letter sign too.
But I'm not! Thats why he uses basic gestures with me, or The A.R.S.E. kindly translates for me. In complicated matters such as the cleaning rota or supplies ordering, he writes or types. (He has his own profile on my laptop.)

Hmm. I must say I'm pretty stumped on the Frankie Howerd connection to James Bond. The only other thing I can think of is that the Bond films and the Carry On films were both filmed at Pinewood Studios in England. Howerd was in two Carry On films so could there possibly be a connection there I wonder?

Nope!
Time for the answer. Its Arthur Howard, Frankie's brother, who appears in Moonraker as Drax's butler Cavendish.
Arthur appeared in a few films himself, but is probably best remembered as the put upon Deputy Headmaster Pettigrew in Film Bottom's Up, a film spin off from tv series Whacko, starring Jimmy Edwards. 😊

Thanks, @Thunderbird 2. I must've missed that at the time! It's like a futuristic Queen Vic!
Silh! We have standards in this establishment.
I have seen that pub... not enough space, constant arguments and no food.
Oh and why does that bloke only play 'dun dun, dun dun dun-dun' on rhe drums?!
Here we have room, space, modern technology and every kind of explosive coffee you can imagine!
(At this point Digits hops onto TB2's shoulder and politely taps with his forefinger)
Thank You Digits, I'll get the chicken pieces ready, you get Holly's bowl!
Can I have a coffee please, TB2?
And a bacon sarnie too, white bread…lots of ketchup - thanks 😁
SABS is like the Queen Vic...only better:
Very good M,
(TB2 produces the food.)
Ketchup - Brown, Tomato, or Banana?
I think there is some gherkin chutney left too.
It HAS to be tomato ketchup…anything else is just against nature 👀 bacon sarnies should always look like they’ve come from Dracula’s lunchbox 😬
Cheers, TB2 😁
I agree, though I'm more into cumberland banger baps!
I actually prefer HP Sauce to Tomato Ketchup. Can't imagine why...
That’s just against nature…and anyone using HP Sauce on butties should be fined or flogged…preferably both 😁

"HP, you've to to admire their sauce!"
Frankie Howerd would never lie to us. 😉
Frankie lie?
Titter ye not! 😁
Oooh, no missus … No, no, liss-un … Oh, please yourself, then.
Frankie Howerd… one of the great British comedians who were complete one-offs.
Any chance of some coffee please, TB2? And drinks all round on my tab.
I'll take a nice mug of tea, stout yeoman of the bar.
Typhoo I think. Ooooooooh!
Agreed, an absolute comic genius. He cracks me up with his facial expressions and vocal dexterity.
That’s very generous of you, thanks…I’ll take a coffee please 😁
Frankie Howard - flawed genius…loved him 😃 would have loved to have seen him at The Establishment 🍸

My dad had this album…it’s hilarious…
Brilliant…I have heard bits from that…😁

Just a reference to this episode of Coogan's Run. 😀

Arthur Howard was the brother of actor Leslie Howard of Gone With The Wind fame. Methinks the landlord has been supping the Scotch a bit too much 😉
