HI gang ,im back from my holiday in Cyprus , Rumours have it that the Bond writers have just been there to look at future locations .So here is my prediction at the next film :D . Blowfield will escape from prison ,and be hidden away in the KYKKOS monastery high up in the Trudos mountains .Mount Olympus has its own ski slopes at 6,000 feet plus ,that will appeal to you ski nuts out there :) .Bond will be taking advantage of the seas around Cyprus in a high powered speed boat, and using the excellent twisting mountain roads around the Trudos mountains for a car chase ,and of course stay at the Elysium hotel :D laying on wooden sun loungers drinking ice cold Vespers :p
By the way, did I tell you, I was "Mad"?

I miss the arhitecture of early Bond movies. We don't see anything like the lair of dr. No in modern Bond movies.
    Here are a few suggestions:

    The 747 house in California:

Tucson Mountain Retreat: Perhaps the house of Felix Leiter?

I have mentioned the spektakular mountain "Preikestolen" (The Pulpit) more than once here on AJB007.
Just Google it - it's fantastic and would be perfect for Bond. But it's perfect, but it's probably too late. An action scene in the next Mission Impossible movie will be filmed there, at least if the Norwegian government fails in preventing them.... {:)

Just talked to my younger sister on the phone. She told me about her trip to New York.
She enjoyed the city, but in spite of never having been to the States before it felt strangely familiar and unexotic. NY has been in so many movies and on TV she felt like she had seen everything before. This is the reason I feel the US should be used sparingly and smartly in Bond movies.

I agree. It's why I don't think Bond should ever visit Los Angeles or go back to New York. On my first trip to Los Angeles, I already knew how to get anywhere I wanted to go because I had seen it all in film and television.

The Paris catacombs would play nicely on Fleming's death's head imagery, similar to the Day of the Dead festival in Spectre or the Bodyworlds exhibit in CR, but with a vibe all its own. Perfect for a chase scene or, given the fragile nature of the monument, a stealthy pursuit.

Paris catacombs could be used if they do an adaptation of From A View to a Kill.

I just read that only 2 km. of the 250 km. of catacombes are open to the public.....

This is Bishops Rock in Cornwall, the smallest island in the world with a house on and the most western part of England. I imagine it as the location for a stealthy SBS raid involving Bond, perhaps to find an escaped Blofeld waiting for a SPECTRE submarine.

That lighthouse was built in the 1850s if I remember correctly. I cannot imagine how difficult it was to construct. It would be a challenge today with out machinery, equipment and reliable weather forecasts, but 150 years ago? Incredible.

When I was young, I'd work 26 hours a day down the quarry to bring up the rocks they used to build that lighthouse!! Then I'd walk the 14 miles home in bare feet, suck on a rag dipped in mouldy dew for dinner and get up six hours before I went to bed. I remember it like yesterday, Chriscoop. But you tell young people that today, and they won't believe you!

Well, if you ask me, I'd say that a Moonraker-like situation needs to happen.
Something to push EON out of their comfort zone and make them find interesting locations for a change.
I speak for everyone except ASP9mm when I say that we've had enough of London, Turkey and Tangiers as locations.
There are some truly great locations here and SPECTRE gave me hope that they would be trying to be a bit more creative with the locations.

What despite Spectre being filmed in tangier and London? London is almost essential as a location, it's Italy that needs resting as a location, Bond should maybe visit Canada at some point, Croatia has legs. I'd also like to see him in France purely as I love the opening chapters of casino royale book, the carribean is always welcome.

The Living Daylights also features Tangier. London is hardly essential as a location, having gone 19 films before being used as a location for a set piece. Bond classically took care of business outside of the UK.

Sure, but (if you'll forgive my language) they're taking the piss in the recent movies.

Also, Asia (real one that is) would be nice.

It's only my opinion. But M should only be seen in a London setting, obviously they don't have to actually shoot in London but London should feature as that's where M's office is.
