My Bond prop collection.

propcollector22propcollector22 Lake district UKPosts: 72MI6 Agent
Good evening Mr Bond fan…I’ve been expecting you!
My name is Paul, I have 2 jobs, 1 building Submarines for the government (not as exciting as it sounds) and semi pro magician (with wedding fatigue as 19 under the belt and 10 to go!)
I worked 10 years at the local theatre on the props team, hence my interest in props.
Ever since my dad took us to see ‘The spy who loved me’ and Roger Moore (Rick Sylvester) came off the cliff and the parachute opened and everyone in the cinema stood up and clapped, I think a Bond fan was born.

I thought I had way too much stuff till I saw David Zaritsky’s collection (David if you’re reading this…would you like to adopt me?) then decided I need more things! My house is actually like a museum and there is no room left to hang anything new. (other obsessions are Back to the future and batman) Full collection is on RPF.
I’ve wanted a real clapperboard for as long as I can remember, but there too expensive so get the local graphics people to copy these. I believe Dan has signed the black one for me!

    Round 2 Spectre
Spectre tips the scales as my Fave Dan Craig Bond film (controversial I know) (I love brackets!)
Cant explain it, just is. I think the collection kicked off with someone selling his photos of Blenheim place, which doubled up as Rome. The pics were awesome and the lengths they went to get every single supercar with a Rome number plate seemed amazing to say its on the screen for a few seconds.
The number plates were bought off the company who hired the cars out and the paperwork was bought from a good supplier of real props on Ebay who works in the industry. Frame was about 200 but it takes soo long to get all these things I think it’s worth spending on having it done well. A part of the blown up MI6 set, magnetic taxi sign.
Just ordered the spectre cane from the start of the movie from 007 shop waiting delivery.

Sweet collection, Paul! Very nice displays there. I actually stumbled across your IG pics not long ago. I remember seeing those taxi signs for sale before SP was released, but couldn't spot one in the film.

Well done getting the sunset scramble shirt! Hope your Rubik's cube gets some screen time.
Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

    Round 3 SKYFALL

Really love this film, amazing job done by Sam Mendes.
1 set of casino chips and cards are screen used but i mixed them up and don't know which is which !
Full set of storyboards from opening sequence and a screen used door keypad which obviously saw some action once the set was pulled down, and finally my fave thing the sign from the studio which they high fived 'apparently' for luck!!
Skyfall sign is a replica available on Ebay and very well made and the price has been lowered as the guy makes them a bit thinner.

This has really grown on me recently, and the only thing i could get was the screen used menu.

    Round 5 Casino Royale
The film that kicked the DC obsession off, I bought a few costume swatch cards that were really cheap at the time and obviously the Madagascar shirt has been a want ever since. Just got one custom made from magnoli, now i've not seen them mentioned on here but they replicate a lot of Bond items, but there made to measure but not cheap, but well worth a look.

    https://www.magnoliclothiers.com/

I love what the framer did for the C.R. frame, this took about 18 months to collect all these bits.
the badge and the ocean club chips were quite expensive and postage and import duty was more than the items were.

Thanks I have been collecting for about 16 years, 1 more page to do and a link to the RPF if its allowed just in case anyone is interested in the rest of the stuff, as the bond stuff is only about a third of my collection.. I think its a shame not many people get to see it !

    Round 6 Everything else.
Agreed not all props but a few older items.
I think working behind the scenes and movie magic has always interested me, my dream job would be working in Pinewood (or owning it)
I love the part of the parachute piece handed to Valentin (Robbie coultrane ) in TWINE.

    P1060996.jpg

I think thats it..thanks for taking time to look at this page, I recently saw a post on the Daily mail about
the prop store auction with someone putting over priced tat, but some hardworking props person has spent
hours making these items, and they are part of movie history.

August is my birthday month, so i am not as strict on the budget this month !
After getting the Madagascar shirt (which is really cool and i haven't stopped wearing it), I decided to get a proper lazer etched clapper from a fantastic supplier in Glasgow to go with the hotel card & few poker chips and get these framed.

Also got a CR script, new watch and few more storyboards. Off to the framers Friday to get them framed up, will post the result.

Wonferful collection and so nice to see it displayed so well. Would love to get my stuff on display but unfortunately, despite having my own man cave its nowhere near large enough to display my goodies which sit in a collection of thirty or so large plastic tubs. As a result only the very special stuff gets to see daylight, (or rather artificial light!). Look forward to seeing more of your collection as it grows. I have just sent my latest acquisitions of to my framer which I hope to have back by the end of April, like most things , time and money restrict but its well worth it.
  • propcollector22propcollector22 Lake district UKPosts: 72MI6 Agent
so nothing original yet from NTTD, but here's hoping !
Got a few bits to hopefully give the film a full display case of its own.
Film cells and stamps off Ebay, rest of the items from the 007 store, bolly (which is amazing) from whiskey exchange.
Autographs and a map piece to go with the old stuff.

Nice set of additions to the collection Paul. Will be interesting to see if they hold back on any new release of merchandise now the release date has been put back. I think my next purchase will be three books due out in April including the Making Of....(unless they pull this), as well and another prop off for framing.
