I was googling for a movie poster and I happened to find a very striking and evocative propaganda poster from WWII. As a rule propaganda posters from nazi Germany are best avoided, but this one has no ideological content at all so I think it's okay this time.
Having prorogued the UK British Politics thread without prior consultation, 'Barbel' Johnson today promised an array of goodies in the Queen's Speech, including a special preview showing for all ajb members of No Time To Die, before even Babs and Mickey get to see the final cut, with better action scenes than would be available for any non-ajb members, plus a chance to shag a leading actress of your choice (or Danny Craig, as tastes require.)
After that, Barbel will be taking the Bond franchise back to the early 1970s Bond era, such as DAF and TMWTGG, with safari suits, flares, glam rock and the three-day week.

if you want to see more Lois Maxwell, there is an early episode of Danger Man entitled "Position of Trust" (Oct 23 1960) in which Maxwell has a prominent costarring role as a local agent assisting John Drake on a case. If you think of how our current Eve Moneypenny started as a field agent, maybe classic Moneypenny did too?
the episode also features Donald Pleasance, and its up on Youtube: you'll have to crank the volume. Maxwell enters about 4:25 minutes in.
She is the definitive Moneypenny. Fleming barely described the character, so Lois Maxwell basically created everything we know about her. None of the other actresses have done much with the character though Naomie Harris is best since the original.
Like Harry Saltzman, Maxwell was Canadian (born Kitchener Ontario!), She used to write a column for the Toronto Sun when I was a lad, actually credited to Miss Moneypenny. Can't remember what she wrote about, sorry, though the paper is otherwise a rightwing tabloid. Hope it wasnt their usual rabblerousing. Anybody else remember her newspaper column?
It is my first day off in some time and my wife has taken over the TV! She does not like James Bond films so I have to be careful and time when I can watch them! Tonight instead of a 007 DVD it will be 'Strictly Come Dancing'! She has something else planned to watch for afterwards - she also thinks it is rude to be on the computer during 'family time' so I must sit and 'enjoy' her programmes.
