Bookies were taking 11/1 this morning but his name has now been removed from the list.

When TND came out, the experience was even worse and from this moment, he never went to a single Bond film (he didn't even know the ending of NTTD until a few months ago). He keeps reading Fleming and watching OHMSS from time to time, but for the rest, absolutely nothing. The passion and the excitement are long gone and we barely talk about Bond with him.

Just after the announcement, I couldn't prevent myself from thinking of my complete lost of interest in Star Wars, a franchise I've always been in love with - not as much as Bond but it has a special place in my heart - and I made the link with my uncle and how he became a 'ghost' within the fandom.

Although I really hope this new era will bring us joy, let's assume the opposite. If the Bond franchise becomes something you don't find your soul in anymore, do you think you'll still keep the flame alive and how?

Plus, with murmurs of people wanting a female Bond (and as someone who is against the idea), I am definitely open to a Wai Lin spinoff in some medium (a film, comic, video game, even an animated series).

I propose Gemma Chan for the role (yes, I know she's already in Amazon's game, but it's a separate continuity).

I hope B26 will be more like the Brosnan Bonds, perhaps GE. More fun and adventure than we've had the last 20 years, but still handling more serious scenes.

I'm a songwriter and recently remixed a song I wrote 19 years ago and did a video pays homage to the original Sean Connery Bond early 1960's style theme / soundtrack.

There was something so suave and cool about the early bonds and I wanted to capture that energy.

If MGM / Amazon does a reboot / origin story maybe it would fit ....let me know what you think:

It makes sense because real spies are all assigned cover names.

It opens up alot of possibilities, allowing writer Steven Kinight to:

1) re-introduce Bond in a plausible way in Bond 26, as long as the 'cover name' scenario is explained - simply and clearly - at the very beginning of the movie, perhaps in a pre-credits sequence;

2) make Bond contemporary while retaining all of the 'essential elements' of Bond and the Bond universe.

It's interesting to consider the parallels between Bond 26 and Dr. No.

Bond 26 has a history, of course, but so did the Bond that Connery brought to the screen for the first time in Dr. No. Dr. No's Bond, though, had a history that was entirely literary - except for Barry Nelson's brief stint as Bond in a single TV production in the 1950s.

If James Bond's 'personal history' is, in actuality, the 'legend' that MI6 created for the James Bond cover name, then those aspects of the character can be carried seamlessly into Bond 26 too.

In my opinion the PTS for the next Bond movie should set itself apart from Craig's Bond, but at the same time make it very clear that this is the James Bond we know and love. Have Bond do something Craig never did, but is typical Bond. Skiing, snow mobiles, scuba diving, roulette for example.

Craig's Bond spent a lot of time in London, Turkey, Jamaica, Italy and the Alps. Then det the PTS somewhere CraigBond never was: Japan, the Arctic, Georgia (in the Caucasus), sub-Saharan Africa etc.

We never saw CraigBond in uniform, so seeing Commander Bond in uniform working with the military would be nice. Don't get me wrong. I want Bond to be 007 from the start, so Bond isn't still in the navy. CraigBond never took part in a raid (the only raid in his tenure was the villains raiding Bond's "lair"), so a raid would be nice. Raids are traditionally part of the movie finale, so a nice twist would be starting by having the raid in the PTS.

Last of all the last three title songs have been ballads, so an energetic and upbeat song would be great!

Denis Villeneuve to Direct New James Bond Movie

I think it would be interesting to see some Bond films set in the 1950s to, say, 1961, before Dr. No, of course, ramping up to the Connery era. Doherty would play the younger version of our hero. If he stayed in the role long enough, they could even try for some adventures set between or immediately after the Connery films.

I don't expect this to happen, of course. Period films cost money, and arguably Doherty would have to tailor his performance to Connery, and he might not want that. Product placement would be near impossible. But it would be a direction to take they never have before. They wouldn't have to start over, per se, now that the Craig era is done, and yet it might give some life to the series. It would also dovetail nicely into the classic Bonds, in some ways, making them relevant again.

I'm not exactly thinking prequels, though the time setting would technically qualify as such. I'm thinking more like "lost" films of the era, done in as much the same style. For old timers like me, it would be something we've been waiting for for decades, and for younger audiences, it might even seem fresh.

Well now that EON are no longer making bond films, that would mean that all future Amazon bond films will be "non-eon" bond films.

So in effect, given that the Amazon films are official bond films, does this make NSNA official too?

I personally wouldn't mind if it was. It'd be nice to have an extra bond film added to the official collection. CR '67 on the other hand though, ugh.

I'll go first. Thunderfinger over at MI6Community says BB has said Cary Fukunaga has the job if he wants it. I don't know what his source is. Fukunaga said in a Variety Zoom interview that he'd love to get back to the franchise even though he's tired from NTTD. Aparently Fukunaga has a pitch too. If anyone can confirm or deny any of this it would be great. Personally I think he did a great job on NTTD and I'd welcome him back.

My guess is reinventing Bond must mean going younger. Is it a coincidence we have that new video game coming out from the makers of Hitman? I think they need the audience to be a younger demographic for the franchise and video game tie ins and anything else for the youth market will be exploited with a younger Bond who begins as a Lt in the Royal Navy and somehow ends up at MI6.

I think this means all the candidates for the next Bond are wrong. It's someone who at the moment is probably in their early twenties. Lets not forget the first time Dalton was asked after Connery he was in his twenties and so was Henry Cavill. I think whomever they pick will still have that mix of TV and films experience but they have not had leading roles in major pics. Both Connery and Craig had those backgrounds, and you could argue Dalton was not a big name when he was picked.

With Bond26 as early as 2025, it looks like we'll have had ten years and only two Bond films. As much as I would like Martin Campbell to direct it, he is 78, one can only hope he is still able. Looking at IMDb he's certainly busy.

Amazon could do the same and make a one off film or TV series with Pierce. An Old Man Bond film or four episode series would be interesting.

Hemsworth has many blockbusters under his belt to draw a new and younger Bond audiance to the cinema.

He made a lot of movies back to back. So whe could see every year a new Bond movie in the future. I like him as an actor and would not have a problem with him beeing 007.
