All of this implies Safin's main goal has always been to punish 'dangerous' people and their families, like he did with Madeleine's mother in the PTS, and then many years later with the members of SPECTRE. I guess he also targets the employees of agencies like MI6 which hire professional killers, because Moneypenny tells Bond in Q's house she 'can’t imagine they’re leaving us out' after the computer breaches round the world of databases holding DNA information.

But who are the buyers Safin refers to during the climax? Why would he sell such a lethal weapon to people whose purpose is not necessarily good while his goal is precisely to 'clean' the world and make it safer? Furthermore, Safin is not written as a greedy character whose ultimate objective is making money like Goldfinger, Kananga or Elektra for instance.

So isn't this subplot with the buyers irrelevant considering what Safin has done so far and what he tells Bond about his worldview? Why did they add such a concept to the story?

• Bring back impressive stunts!
• The Heracles project is a development of Smartblood.
• Bond and Madeline visits prison, but Blofeld doesn't die. Instead the perfume kills all the guards except one. He has been blackmailed by SPECTRE to help Blofeld escape.
• Let Bond stop in a village to fill petrol and perhaps ask for directions to Madeleine's cabin. f.ex. in Hellesylt. (https://i0.wp.com/www.hellesylt.info/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Hellesylt-A-1024x683.jpg?ssl=1) or the town of Ålesund (https://assets.simpleviewcms.com/simpleview/image/upload/c_fill,g_xy_center,h_640,w_640,x_813,y_486/f_jpg/q_65/v1/clients/norway/alesund_norway_2000_6cc21a63-7fda-42df-bf60-c9a575d5723e.jpg?_a=BATCtdAA0) Both are at least in the right county. That way we get a tiny "feel" for Norway and perhaps even see a native.
• Blofeld kills or makes Safin his second in command and head of science , both can be done. But anyway Blofeld become the head of SPECTRE again.
• We keep the party in Cuba and much of the SPECTRE leadership gets wiped out, but it happens because Bond is smart and tricks everyone. Maybe he snatches Valdo early on and gets the info to change the nanobots like Valdo does in the movie?
• Blofeld's plan and intentions with the nanobots gets explained better.
• Nomi gets killed on the island. There's no point in having two 00-agents in a fight and using one to ferry Madeleine away.
• Bond uses the "Die, Blofeld! Die!" line while strangling Blofeld on the island after 007 has been infected with Herakles.
• We don't see Matilde and "Dad Bond". But to give Bond the promise of a family and a normal life. Madeleine is revealed to be pregnant at the end.

In SP, we see the following image:

Clearly implying that Bond was 12 in 1983, a few years younger than Craig.

In NTTD, when Bond and Moneypenny coerce Q into looking at the files Bond obtained earlier, Blofeld's DoB states 1948 (sorry, can't find an image) ie about 8 years older than Christoph Waltz.

Therefore Blofeld is more than 20 years older than Bond, about 23 years older. We'd expect young Franz Oberhauser to be a few years older than James- but 23 years older???

Someone has screwed up somewhere, or have I got this all wrong?

We can suppose James Bond is killed by missiles. But technically we are not sure if he’s dead or alive. We don't see him dead. He's hit by the explosion. And, yes, you can think that in this way is impossible to survive.

So, I've tried to remember some Fleming moment in the movie and I've re-read final chapters of YOLT. I’m suggested that No Time to die is a modern revisitation of the novel and also the ending can be similar.

In the novel, James Bond escapes from Blofeld’s castle with a baloon. Fleming wrote: "Something hit him on the side of the head, the same side that was already sending out its throbbing message of pain. And that finished him. He knew it had! For now the whole black silhouette of the castle swayed in the moonlight and seemed to jig upwards and sideways and then slowly dissolve like an ice-cream cone in sunshine. The top storey crumbled first, then the next, and the next, and then, after a moment, a huge jet of orange fire shot up from hell towards the moon. A buffet of hot wind, followed by an echoing crack of thunder, hit Bond and made his balloon sway violently. What was it all about? Bond didn’t know or care. The pain in his head was his whole universe. Punctured by a bullet, the balloon was fast losing height. Below, the softly swelling sea offered a bed. Bond let go with hands and feet and plummeted down towards peace, towards the rippling feathers of some childhood dream of softness and escape from pain.”

Here we can considered JB probably dead.

And we could suppose it with in the following chapter, when M writes his epitaph: "I was happy and proud to serve Commander Bond in a close capacity during the past three years at the Ministry of Defence. If indeed our fears for him are justified, may I suggest these simple words for his epitaph? Many of the junior staff here feel they represent his philosophy: “I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

If novel ended here, we are suggested that James Bond is dead.

This also happens in the movie.

So we are one difference between movie and novel: it’s more clear that in the novel James Bond isn’t dead and we know it in the following final chapters.

My theory is: if No time to die is inspired by YOLT novel, how are we sure that Bond is dead? And if was similar to the novel?

And why the name is “No time to die”? 

One of the concepts in the movie is the time (remember how we see in the opening credits) and they take the same words from Fleming’s novel to explain the meaning of the time: "I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time”. So JB uses his last time to save his family, and the connection to Fleming’s words is logic. But why there’s “no time to die?”

The other thing that could confirm this theory is the last line of the movie, I've listened it in italian and english version. Madeline to her daughter says: “By the man, his name is Bond, James Bond”. So because grammar is not an opinion, why does she say “is” and not “was”?

My opinion is that the final is more phylosophical than material: James Bond is half dead half alive, dead as we know James Bond’s Daniel Craig and alive as the character that we know. He will return in some way in some time, Daniel Craig not. And we so can considered the final open.

So I watched NTTD again for the first time in a few months and there is a line from Nomi which was even featured in the trailer and I never picked up on it. When Nomi goes to Bond's house in Jamaica she says:

"Get in my way and I will put a bullet in your knee. The one that works".

What does she mean by this? Is it some kind of idiom I am not familiar with?😅

On Her Majesty's Secret Service:

-The 'all the time in the world' quote and music.

-The theme tune being played in the background.

The Living Daylights:

-The Aston Martin V8.

Multiple Roger Moore/Timothy Dalton films:

-The painting of Robert Brown as M.

One thing I’ve never been able to figure out is why some NTTD premiere ticket wallets were silver, yet others were black.

I’ve seen both versions for sale.

Is it according to seating? Is one version for VIPs? Or maybe one for guests, one for public?

Luke Skywalker dies at the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Tony Stark (Iron Man) dies at the climax of Avengers: Endgame (2019)

All three of these characters are the heroic leads of their respective franchises; all three give their lives as part of a desperate sacrifice aimed at protecting others; and all three character deaths come as highly unexpected and emotive plot twists to the audience. Sound familiar? I therefore contend that, regardless of Eon’s claims that the plot arc of Bond’s death was envisioned as far back as 2006- which may or may not be the case- No Time to Die took more than a little inspiration from its franchise rivals here. There are other similarities between films here too. In Logan (2017) Wolverine even dies while defending a previously unknown adopted daughter from harm. So what do others think of this theory? Was Bond’s death partially inspired by other critically acclaimed blockbusters of the late 2010s? Or is it simply a spectacular coincidence? What do others think? 

Here's me, earlier this evening, at the location of the scene in NTTD where Bond and M meet for a tete-a-tete by the Thames, as we hear bars from the OHMSS theme on the soundtrack ('Good To Have You Back'). In the background is Hammersmith Bridge. I'm hoping that the pool on the ground is seepage from the river rather than some random drinker's urine!

In the second shot I re-tread the steps taken by Tanner approaching Bond and M from the direction of 'The Rutland Arms'.

When Bond is at Vesper’s grave and you can clearly see her death year as 2006. This makes sense since Casino Royale was released that year and also contains references a few times that the year is 2006. But the real curious thing is that her date of birth is 1983. The actress who played Vesper, Eva Green was born earlier and so Vesper’s birth year was deliberately changed. But why to 1983?

I wonder if it is a reference to the fact that Spectre was not seen on screen between 1983 and 2006. The last time Spectre was featured in a film was in NSNA. The dates on the grave therefore could represent Spectre’s absence from the screen.

It could also be a symbol of McClory’s continued insistence to get his own Bond series started after NSNA in 1983. He was always in the background being a nuisance to EON productions which finally ended with his death 4 days after Casino Royale was released. I think Vesper’s grave could therefore be a subtle nod to McClory (or a subtle middle finger if you see it in a negative way).

It took some members a few months to catch the film, but I think it's safe to assume that everyone has by now. If not, please speak up.

There has to come a time when everyone knows, for example, the ending of "The Sixth Sense" or "Fight Club". An older example- "Psycho".

The moment that made me want to make this thread was in the wine cellar scene where Paloma looks totally repulsed when James comes on to her. I didn't notice how bad it is on first viewing:

I found it so bad as to be immersion-breaking. It wasn't just these two women (plus the ending) but these are just the most obvious things to point out.
