No. One of the least competitive I have ever watched, maybe since the 49ers trashed the Broncos. The Chiefs were simply not at the game and the Eagles gobbled up their prey with glee. Mahones is a great QB, but his offensive line constantly left him exposed. It was done by half time.

No idea why they call it football and then use their hands all the time 🙄

A day in the life of Norwegians:

While these photos give a highly realistic image of life in Norway, I have to admit I don't usually take my morning toilet in these kind of locations (it's a plumbing issue). But I have done it of course, even though I didn't bring the newspaper and the toilet was more old-fashioned:

Excellent short film made by the Royal Marines.

I saw this on Instagram and thought I would share it here:

Finally AJB is up and running again! I was at my wits end, and considered throwing my router off a random cliff and get a life when the forum started working again.

It's one thing for me to clear off for six months to leave you all guessing, with a plaintive thread asking 'Where is Napoleon Plural?' to reel me in but that doesn't mean ajb should disappear for 12 hours or so, that's just taking the mick.

I guess these blackouts are among the risks of running a site like AJB. Risk is a fact of life.

You could also say that the chances of a film version of John Gardner's Never Send Flowers being released are very low but (hopefully) never zero. 🌹

I was just thinking that such a film adaptation ironically might be more of a possibility now in the light of the news that broke just after I wrote this. Oh, the irony! 😀

I'd rather see "High Time to KIll" if a Gardner novel gets made into a film. But above else I want more EON James Bond films.

Don't worry. It's easy to get the 567 Bond continuation novels mixed up. 😀

A jogger who calls himself "Wanksy" in Stavanger in my favourite Scandinavian country uses a running app to create not safe for work images on the map while running. It's not me - i don't jog! 😂

A few of my childhood friends met up on Saturday. Olav introduced us to the song: "Dead Man'd Blues" by finn Tokvam. The song was so good and the lyrics so brilliant I just had to translate it as a mental exercise. It's sung in "Sognamaul", a dialect so distinctive many people from Oslo don't understand it. I highly recommend reading it in the broadest Scottish you can muster for realism.

    Dead man'd blues

This is the story of Elling, a gentleman from Sogn.

He smelled a little bit of Old Spice and mouthwash.

He worked at the electricity company and he was gentle as a lamb.

But he was hard on himself and a hard drinker.

And he suffered with bad health, and it want up and down.

Elling woke up one morning, it was almost seven.

He didn't jump out of bed, he felt absolutely dead.

He fell out of bed and crawled on all fours to a mirror.

When he looked his reflection he saw what was wrong.

"Oh my God", said Elling, "I'm dead".

    Verse:

it's too late to give up.

    If there's a will there's a way.

You have to snap back, just be like Elling.

Don't go down for the count.

Don't go down for the count.

I asked Elling: then what did you do?

No, I didn't give up even though the heart didn't beat.

i got on the bike and pedaled in my clogs.

It wasn't easy. The ticker didn't tick.

But one thing was clear, you have to keep the corpse warm.

Elling's dead body was the first customer at the COOP that day.

He bought two beers at the Coop down in Lund.

You know Pilsner and Bayer is medicine,

so I bought one of each and then I was fine.

    The heart started beating.

You see, I've seen people in trainers who didn't train.

So I have no doubt Elling's heart stopped.

There may be people from Sogn who lie a little bit,

but Elling was a gentleman from Sogn

who didn't even lie down when he dropped dead.

is it possible the short-haul airline flying Dash-8 is mocking Bentley's ad? 🤣

Last night I saw an interview with the five members of the current cabinet who survived the terrorist attack on Utøya. They said that everyting that happend was by chance, including their survival. The spoke about how rare it is to have nearly seventy of one's friends killed in one day. The cabinet members think of that day every day, but they know they are among the success stories. Some survivors haven't been able to educate themselves after the terrorist attack, and a few has problems leaving the house. Tonje Brenna, who I've mentioned before, said she feels glad to be alive every morning and her success is a form of revenge against the terrorist. "And when I see you (indicating the other four) I think: there's revenge on two legs!"

A recent photo of Tonje Brenna who's one of the five Utøya survivors who are now in the cabinet. Brenna hid right there at the end of the far-right terrorist attack with two other youths. Brenna was holding her fingers inside the wound of the other girl to stop her from bleeding out. She heard the terrorist above her, shooting and shouting "Wow!" and laughing. Several teens he shot fell down the cliff and landed in front of the three teens who were hiding. They had to watch a boy die in front of them, because they would be seen if they moved. Thankfully few governments cabinets have members with this type of background, but I think their background is a strength too.

A wonderful documentary on Professor Eric Laithwaite.

Father of the Maglev and the levitating tray from 'The Spy Who Loved Me'.

You can see the levitating tray at the 2 min 20 sec mark in the video below.

    Gyroscopic propulsion systems...fascinating stuff.

Tonight I was at a church concert where something called "Requiem" was performed with orchestra, choir and solo singers. Powerful stuff! The composer is someone named Mozart. The man is obviously very talented and I expect him to do well in the music business in the years to come. Is a colaboration with someone like Taylor Swift too much to hope for? 😃

She could always write lyrics to one or two of his tunes. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, it's been done often before.
