Ian Fleming would also be a good suggestion for a bank note I feel as James Bond is such a big cultural phenomenon. And he's already been on Royal Mail stamps, or at least Bond has.
"The tough man of the world. The Secret Agent. The man who was only a silhouette." - Ian Fleming, Moonraker (1955).
As far as I know Britain isn't teeming with majestic and exiting animals like wolves, bear or elk. In the last couple of centuries people may have been more likely to run into great authors and musicians. It's not a bad idea.
Bank note imo should reflect a county's culture and history. I am not ant animal, but Britain doesn't have any unique animals - extinct ones perhaps, which would fit in with the policy of only featuring dead people, but it'd be a bad advert for UK culture - a red breasted robin hardly conjures UK culture though so what to do? Narnia? Harry Potter? Bond? Oliver Twist? Big Ted from Play School? Apparently animals are harder to forge, but given the half-dozen plus anti-fraud logis on a bank note, and coupled with the remorseless drive to cashless transactions, I wonder why the BofE is bothering.
Sorry, I am on a coffee break. I'm bored and buzzed with caffeine.
Working class heroes. If something like the pandemic happened again society wouldn'tbe very affected if we couldn't do our jobs, If these men didn't do their jobs we would be in trouble pretty fast.
Beautiful pics are they not @Sonero ? Thanks for posting.
It is a pity that with such a monumental feat of science and technology occuring, that people in positions of power in the world are acting like complete lunatics and threatening to blow each other apart. I am speechless and, honestly, quite frightened.

That's a good idea, or am I just biased?
I think it is a good idea and certainly better than putting a picture of a wood pigeon on a fiver.
You are obviously completely unbiased when it comes to James Bond, Barbel. 😆
@Silhouette Man That is a great suggestion.

The only person who should be on all currencies of the world is MR. T from the A-Team.
The world needs MR. T.
Veey good 😀

" .... extinct [animals] perhaps, which would fit in with the policy of only featuring dead people." Good point! I didn't think of that. ☺️
Sweden has trash cans that talk dirty!
1989: Bin Day in Swansea
Only the BBC could create a documentary this beautiful and compelling.
The unsung heroes of society.

Ravens (Corvus corax) are the most intelligent of birds.
Here we see a raven named 007 solve a complex problem.
Our little friend is a real 'problem eliminator'.
Fascinating birds.
I'm sure our beloved moderators are even smarter than that! 😁
Birds definitely aren't bird brained I've discovered. And our mods are of course a bright bunch. I hope the cheques are in the post? 😉
Of course we aren’t stupid 😇
And here are your checks ☺️
Beautiful imagery coming from Artemis II.
Johann Strauss - Blue Danube
That's a beautiful combination.

The Men Who Churn Out Romantic Novels - BBC Archive 1970
I always wanted to write a sci-fi romance novel with Mr. T from the A-Team as the hero.
An alien love story gone wrong...heart break...a jealous reptilian overlord.
One day it is going to happen.
Let me know when do, I'll be happy to give it a read.
Thank you Barbel.😂
I found this fan art online. Fantastic!
